Dd was born at 30 weeks and is now 7 weeks old. She was fed with a feeding tube until recently. In the Nicu I suspected tongue tie but no-one would listen. We got home 10 days ago with the feeding tube and the health visitor confirmed tongue tie. She was still being tube fed and was not able to latch on so we ended up giving her bottles of my expressed breast milk which she took relatively easily although very slowly.
Long and short of it is that she had the tongue tie snipped yesterday, no crying, no blood. Still won't breastfeed , in fact really doesn't want to go near the breast. But also is barely taking her bottle now either - she has forgotten how to suck and has hardly taken any milk since yesterday. We are really worried now as the tongue tie snipping seems to have made it worse.
I've left a message for my HV but wondered if anyone else had a similar experience?
