Comfort sucking & only falling asleep on the breast

Hi everyone

I'm looking for tips/advice/experience with my 14 week old dd.

She pretty much comfort sucks for most of the day and my nipples are becoming sore! I know she's only very little and young but how can I stop this? I'm the only thing that can calm her down when she's upset. Also she'll only nap on the breast and I'm the only one who can soothe her to bed. I've tried introducing a bottle a night but they just give her lots of wind. Some days it's not a problem but when I'm shattered or more recently been poorly it's so so hard.

Has anyone any advice or had similar experience?

I think comfort sucking is normal for a 14 week old tbh. make sure she is latched on properly, plenty of lansinoh for your nipples and learn how to feed lying down so you can nap while she does.

Alternatively, you could try giving her a dummy for naps?

I've ordered another tube of lansinoh. For some reason I'd forgotten about lying down to BF!! I've got a big today and feel horrible so going to try and get in bed with lo.

Lansinoh is nice and also my great LC MW at my BF clinic recommended putting olive oil on the nipple (under a breast pad) between feeds. Not sure if that would work with a younger baby though!

Dummy and a cuddle? (DS did this for a while at this sort of age but gave it up happily enough himself when he was a few months older, in case you're worried about that)

Do you have a sling/carrier you can feed in?
That and cosleep saved my sanity with this.
