12 week growth spurt - give me strength!

Just looking for a virtual sympathetic shoulder and somewhere to vent. We seem to be in the midst of the 12 week growth spurt - DD has not really stopped feeding over the past 48 hours and is resisting sleep even when she's exhausted. She's cooing in her swing chair, resisting sleep, looking all cute and innocent now but I know that any minute the milk monster is going to rise up and demand another round of milk. It's relentless! Have just finished my cold dinner (feeding required as soon as I served up), just about had a wee, put a crumble in the oven after a 15 minute breather.

How much longer will this bloomin growth spurt / extra crabbiness / resistance to sleep / waking at night go on for!!

I've just heard the words, oh I know you're hungry, mummy your required by DH. sigh

Everything you said - me too. From memory, it doesn't really improve until weaning when you can give them something to chomp on to keep them going. It's lovely but soooooo exhausting, isn't it?

I can empathise entirely. We've just got through this! You wonder whether it is actually worth putting any clothes on don't you!

From what I can remember it was relentless for about a week, then settled down again....... Until about 16 weeks.

That one never got back to normal until they were weaned at 6 months.

Sick at it, you're doing a great job!

I went through this last week and it lasted Sat-Wed by which time I felt like my nipples were about to drop off. Confused

So, last night we were down to one feed at 4.30 after constant feeding to midnight. Co sleeping seems to be the only thing to keep her happy at the mo. Tues night was 4 feeds between midnight and 6 and she didnt stop wriggling that night either. We've just done the first feed of the day. I feel like a new person having had 6.5 hours sleep Grin

Cavort I feel your pain. My nipples feel like they've been savaged by a small wild animal!! Not only that but she's taken to grabbing handfuls of boob and squeezing or strumming across the nipple with her head back. Or just scratching. I have scratches all over my boobs. Ouchy ouchy ouch!

iwish thank you for the reminder :)

Well, small milk beast seems quite content having a cuddle with her dad. I wonder how long I've got! Maybe I should go and make the Brew
