Sharp pain in breasts

gertrudestein · 08/09/2013 23:24

I have started feeling a sharp pain on the inside of my breasts. The best way I can describe it is as if a metal claw is scratching the inside of my breast. It happens for about 10 mins after each feed (my ds is 8 wks)

Have looked it up online and it sounds like thrush? Although it is not horrendously painful ao I'm hoping it could be something less severe.

I'm obviously going to go to the doctor, but I've just moved house and am not yet registered so it will take a few days. In the meantime, has anyone else had anything similar and do you have any advice?

Ds seems fine. He feeds for a long time, sometimes pulls on and off the breast in the evening when he's fussy but not the rest of the time. Has had nappy rash but it clears up with sudocrem. We give him one bottle of formula a night and the rest is bf.

Yes could be thrush.

Have a look at this - and take it with you to GP if you think you have thrush.

I was recently treated for it with oral fluconazole and Daktarin cream. It went away quickly. I thought you could actually buy these over the counter - worth a try maybe.
