Nursing bra's

I have about 7 weeks to go untill im induced, I plan to breast feed, Im currently a 34-36 HH, and I have no clue where to start looking for nursing bra's. Ive looked on the mumsnet reveiws but no bras are listed.

So was wondering if you lovely nursing mums could give me a point in the right direction or give me some recommendations. Ive read some bad reviews on some nursing bra's, so what do you lot use.

If you've got a Bravissimo near you I'd recommend a visit for a fitting. They are pricey though. I've got some nursing bras from mothercare on-line but have much smaller boobs than you so can get away with a more dodgy fit!

Bravissimo, definitely. I had two Royce ones in a 34HH, which were fitted for me by the Bravissimo in Manchester. I got fitted when I was about 37 weeks pg and they were big on me then, but fitted perfectly when my milk came in.
They weren't cheap (about £25 each I think) but were absolutely incredible bras.
I then had a lovely Freya one in a 34FF (again, fitted by Bravissimo in Manchester), when I'd shrunk a bit at a few months in.

I used good old M&S - 2 pack of organic cotton for about £28 I think.

I'm a similar size to you. You may well find (like many women) that after your baby has been born and your milk has come in (normally a few days later) that your band size goes down, but your cup size goes up. Bravissimo are good for fitting, but personally I don't love their range of nursing bras. I have found more choice at Figleaves, for example Sorbet or Sophie . The Sorbet is a bit pricier so maybe only one to consider if your cup size is still quite high even after your supply has settled down, but the Sophie is on offer at the moment so may be worth considering once you know what size you'll need. Oh, and be aware that some of the brands (Anita and Bravado come to mind) plus I think the Royce Jasmine but not the other Royce bras use different (American?) sizing, so no FF, GG, HH etc, so you need to convert your size to get the same fit.

Perhaps you could buy a book of grammar while you're out shopping? Its bras, not bra's

I'm due in 8 weeks and have been looking into this too. My plan is bravissimo at about 37-38 weeks. I may only buy one at that stage, but then go back when LO is 5-6 weeks and I know I'm continuing to bf, as I have a bravado nursing bra I've been sleeping in which I can manage with while I wash the other. As long as I don't leave the house in it!

I'm currently a 34j and just don't believe that the M&S/mothercare ones are going to cut the mustard!

34G so a bit smaller but went for Royce from the local bra shop. They were fantastic. Avoid highstreet mum and baby shops, they tried to tell me I was a 34D...... Bravissimo don't work for me usually so didn't try. Thanks ladies I will give them all a try, the nearest bravissimo shop is over an hours drive, but they do deliver.
Never heard of figleaves, but will deffo give them a go.

I did what anything suggests - at Bravissimo. Fitted around 37 weeks then went back when LO was about 5 weeks. The one I got while still preggers was too big in back and small in cup. I have one called Sophie, think it's by Panache. Very comfy. I also got a sleep bra (?Cariwell, or something like that) online and even tho it wasn't anywhere near supportive enough for my now 30H chest, it was great in early weeks when I needed something to keep breast pads in place at night and also for daytime use when just at home on sofa and when my engorged boobs were too tender to have a properly fitting bra anywhere near them

I liked the Hot Milk range, got them online somewhere, can't remember where now. Think I got measured just before having baby, somewhere local, but bought online.

Got measured in bravissimo for maternity bras and then ordered some from brastop.com as where cheaper.

NCT have some on their website.

ring your local NCT. they all have a magic bra lady who will often come to you or you go to them and they can deal with anything.

I agree. I'm currently a whopping 34I and I bought my current nursing bras from www.nursingbra-shop.co.uk after being really disgruntled with others which I had tried. We are lucky enough to have a Bravissimo and Leia on our doorstep but I was still quite disappointed with the panache ones I bought from Brav. V pretty but monoboob ensued. Nursing bra shop has an amazing range, pretty and functional and gave really good service. I bought a black, white and nude Anita underwired nursing bra from them, t-shirt style, and they're brilliant. Much more like the support of a normal underwire bra, but the wire is apparently softer. Ducts aren't at all affected. I think as long as the bra isn't inhibiting then it's fine. Postage is free, you just have to pay if you want to send them back, which seemed fine considering the postage was free. They sent them out really quickly, even just before Christmas.
