Is SMA gold making my DS constipated?

Hello

First time mum, DS is 4 weeks. I breastfed for two weeks, but struggled enormously and ended up expressing and using SMA gold (50:50 at first). This was a very hard decision to make, as I always imagined I would breastfeed- but DS seems much happier being bottle fed.
In the last week or so, I have not been able to express as much as I would have liked- so DS is having around 1 or 2 EBM bottles and the rest formula. In the last few days DS had become very whingey and distressed during his feeds. I burp him, sit him up for 30mins etc but often he will arch his back and scream- not during every feed however.

I've noticed that during the night his poos are hard and he seems to be straining a lot in the early evening/'middle of the night. Then during the morning he will follow with a very runny poo.

Could it be the increase in formula? Should I change to Aptimel? how would I go about doing this?
It's heart breaking seeing him in pain with the constipation and wind, and I feel so guilty as I feel that this wouldn't happened if I had been able to breastfeed.

Thank you in advance

I have had a couple of friends whose dcs got constipated on SMA. They changed to comfort milk (aptamil and sma do them) and their dcs improved a lot.

And please do not feel guilty, even bf for a short time has enormous benefits so don't be too hard on yourself.
