Two week old baby bfing every two hours through the night. Normal?

Congratulations!

Yes, it's normal. Try to take her outside for a walk in the afternoons if possible as it helps them to get the hang of the day/night difference (up to a point... they are still babies, obviously).

It may well improve by 6 weeks or so, although that's also the point when they often start the evening extreme cluster feeding that has you confined to the sofa from 5pm-8pm or so.

Very normal - don't despair, this too shall pass!

I would try feeding every 2 hrs throughout the day for the next couple of days and hopefully you'll find that she isn't quite as hungry at night.

Yes I think so - sorry..

I would also feed more during the day and then depending on what time is BT, co-sleep after first or second waking. So if BT is say at 7pm and she wakes at 9pm, I'd still put her down on her own after the feed, but when she wakes next if it's around 11.30pm or so I would bring her in next to me to get more sleep.. I think that way she might hopefully learn to sleep on her own at least in the evenings, so later on you could have a bit of an evening yourself bar cluster feeding.

Normal! Have you considered co-sleeping?

Normal, but I would try to do the 2 hourly feeds in the day and leave her to sleep longer at night.

Totally normal, though for me that changed to every 2 hours from 7am to 7pm and then 11pm, 3am and 7am ish by 8 weeks so only once in the middle of the night.

I still fed every 2 hours in the day until about 6 months, but not at all between 7pm and 7am after about 12 weeks.

Very normal. My 7mo dts still wake 2-4 hours a night.

Very very normal sorry grin

Dd2 actually did this for 6 months shock but that's less usual!

Yes it's normal.

What you could try is feeding her more often during the day, but there is no guarentee that this will help.

She is still very tiny, and her stomach doesn't hold much milk yet, hence the frequent feedings.

She may very well start going longer at night of her own accord.

If you can, try and rest during the day, alhtough I know this is hard when you have another child.

I can't oremember this with DS although to be fair I was still recovering from the shock of becoming a mum

She's going a lovely three and a half hours during the day between feeds but as soon as I go to bed its every 2. It's been like that for the last four nights so I fear a pattern developing!

Is that me a zombie now or may it change? Is there anything I can do to turn things around?
