My DS is nearly 9m. He was going through the night (from 11ish to 8 or 9am) without a feed for a good few weeks but then was poorly and of course needed to feed to help him settle.
I'm not entirely sure how many times he feeds during the night because we co-sleep so I don't really wake up - it's probably only twice and I'm not that bothered but am supposed to be leaving him for a night soon and am really worried that he's not going to settle without me. I won't be able to get back if he doesn't either and am on the verge of cancelling my trip as I don't want to stress out him or DP and I won't enjoy myself anyway if I think they're having a horrid time (I agreed to go when he was sleeping through!)
He won't take anything from a bottle or drink any formula. At nursery he has water or cow's milk from a cup. Is there anything I can do to encourage him to drop night feeds? He does like food and eats a fair bit during the day, plus he has a good breastfeed before he goes to sleep for the night (about 8pm). He doesn't always feed to sleep either, but I do quite often feed him when we go up to bed as I've disturbed him a bit moving him from his little nest downstairs to the bed.
My DD had night weaned herself by this age but she liked dummies and DS won't entertain them...
Any thoughts? TBH I am coming down in favour of cancelling the trip - he's only a baby for a bit longer.
