Hang up from tongue tie

Hi everyone
My lovely 6.5 mth old ds has suffered from a ptt from birth. It was snipped at 6 and 9 weeks and we has constant feeding for at least 3 mths with it gradually stretching after that.

We are on the waiting list to see if it has reattached again as i still have pain but ds will now go 3/4 hours between feeds day and night.

This is super and weaning is going well despite a possible milk allergy.

Anyway, my dp offered to take ds out for a bit straight after a feed, I thought this was a lovely idea and inspite of me knowing ds would be ok for a few hours having just had a feed and my dp taking 'lunch' for him, I was petrified he'd be starving for milk after a short time away from me.

I know it's a silly hang up, he was fine but I think it's due to the constant feeding for the first 3 weeks and me worrying about weight gain.

Has anyone else got a strange worry about hunger after having a baby with tongue tie? Am I just being pfb and need to get over it.

I could have written your post, although I have a dd. Her Ptt was cut at 11 days, we're getting it recut soon. I worry about being away from her at all, in case she's hungry. She gained 10.5oz last week, compared to 3 oz, 2 oz and 2oz the week before. Previous she'd lost 8% of her birthweight, and it took over 2 weeks for her to gain anything.

I am constantly worrying about my supply, about her feeding, her poo, her wee ... And she is psb.

Doesn't help DS had the same issues, except his tongue tie was missed, he lost 15%+, had to be supplemented, my supply was shot as he couldn't stimulate my production ...it was horrible, and it's left me terribly paranoid.

Oh, and she also has a probable milk allergy!

I'm sorry that you both are going through the same thing but its reassuring to know that I'm not alone!

I agree about having a constant fear of lack of supply, diminishing supply, length of feeds, gaps between feeds, amount of poo, colour of wee.

I think that because he didn't have a waking moment for months where he wasn't attached I'm finding it hard to accept that he's ok for longer now.

I hope that you both get your little ones sorted and I posted on another thread about if there is a link between tongue tie and a milk allergy, it's seems to be a strange coincidence in quite a few cases
