lighting for night feeds

Dd is 5 months old and still waking alot at night. Am ebf and have 2 older dc. I am shattered. In order to function i have been putting baby down in cot (normally settles round about 10pm). Obv switch light off. When dd wakes at 1 for a feed i normally switch on landing light and leave bedroom door open. Normally feed lying down as so tired. Normally both myself and dd fall asleep so light remains on during the night.
Dh has been moaning that he is not getting any sleep because of this. Light is a low energy bulb and he sleep further away from it.
I have tried a night light but found that annoying.
Should i try using light from phone or torch for latching on.
What do you do?
Thank you

You poor thing. How about DH tries an eye mask? Or sleeping somewhere else?!

I have used the light from my phone for latching on in the past, but most of the time used a touch lamp (one of those ones where you touch it three times and the light increases) as this was less bright than our low energy lamp and brighter than a nightlight.

Bathroom light?
Close door a bit more?

Or your dh can be a bit more sympathetic and close the door or switch the light off when you're asleep. I'm assuming he isn't glued to the bed.

We have two under two and I'm feeling your tiredness tooWink

We use an el cheapo LED night light. [[http://www.marksandspencer.com/Marks-and-Spencer-Moulded-Blackout/dp/B0039D1MRK And DH uses this.]

Tell your DH to get the hell over it.

I leave the curtains open so I get a bit of light. There are no street lamps so I'm just getting moonlight and reflected light off the snow but it's enough. My 12 week old son has learn to latch on in the dark. I just need to remember where he's sleeping when I pick him up.

We have a light from b&q, it's turquoise/green with a 20w energy saver in and behind a dressing table so there is just a low cool glow. Maplins sell remote control plug sockets so I turn it on with the remote when I need it and off in theory but I'm usually asleep

The ikea wall lamps, a moon, sun and something else? Are really good as they are so dim with energy bulbs in

I use the "torch" on parent unit of dd1's monitor. Works well.

I use a head torch whenever I share a room with DS. You can move it around and put it under clothes or whatever to dim the light.
When you are in position, you can turn it off.

These are good:
www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/sp+moonlight-lamp-in-holidays-and-sun-protection+b3183. For the sake of 4p electricity a year, I leave it on all the time.

I have also been using a lava lamp but DH complains the movement keeps him awake!

Men apparently find it harder to sleep than babies...

We have a large headboard on our bed and have a little fexable reading light cliped to it. When dd gets up at night it is pointed down behind it which gives just enough light and can be turbed off by myself or dh without needing to move from bed.
