How can I get my breastfed baby to take a bottle?

My baby girl is 6 1/2 months old and has been breastfed so far, however I'm going away for a weekend at the end of February and so I need her to start taking a bottle. I've started weaning her and she eats her purees well, but will only drink a tiny bit of milk or water from a bottle or cup. Mostly she just chews the bottle and plays with it, or gets upset if she is very hungry and offered a bottle. Any ideas on how I can encourage her to drink from a bottle?

Just give the milk in a sippy cup. No need for her to start having bottles at this age.

Milk in a cup, and get someone else to do it once you've gone out.

Cup, DD2 would never take a bottle and I spent a fortune on cups until I found one she liked.

Even then she lived on juice and yoghurt if I was out.

11 years later she still doesn't drink milk.

I BF for years, but never managed to express more than a few mls. DDs opinion of formula or cows milk is unprintable.

Unfortunatly, she won't take milk or water from a sippy cup either. Well, only a tiny bit, not enough for a feed. (what is DD?)

I agree with get someone else to feed her while you are away. Away like out of the house.

We're trying a Doidy cup, with some success. Dd is 4 months and refuses a bottle but actually drank a bit from the cup. A lot went down her front too! But I have heard good things about this cup.

My ds is almost 10 months and I introduced a bottle at 8 months. Well we had a few half hearted attempts before hand but I didn't persevere. In the end I put formula in the bottle and just let him play with it at a time I knew he wasn't hungry.

After a few days of this I let I'm play with it at around feed time. He liked it to be really quite warm. Once he started sucking on the bottle I replaced it with EBM and strangely enough he would take it better from me than anyone else. Now a few weeks down the line he has stayed with my parent overnight and took a bottle beautifully.

I did initially try and go down the sippy cup route but it really isn't as soothing as a bottle and although he doesn't feed to sleep he does feed when he wakes from a nap etc so is still all snugly and sleepy.

Just keep going and eventually she will take it.
