Ds is 6 months and breastfed. He has taken a bottle of ebm and formula in the past but very rarely. We didn't offer any bottles for a while and now he just refuses.

I want to leave him with dp for the day tomorrow but am wotried that he won't drink from the bottle. Dp thinks he will if he is h

Opps pressed post accidentally.

Dp thinks he will if he is hungry enough as we know he can.

Any advice? I just feel uncomfortable leaving him to starve all day but I could be over reacting.

Well he might but he might get pretty distressed before he does. How long will you be out for? Has DH had to look after him while you've been out before?

That's what I don't want, poor ds getting distressed.

He's never had him for more than 2 hours during the day before because I am just usually there, I've had no want or need to leave him.

He thinks because he has taken a bottle before he knows how too and is just being stubborn.

I hate to say it but perhaps don't go out? I would wait until you are confident he'll take the bottle 1st? Smile

Thanks preggershock I just went for a shorter period instead, fed him before I went and he took 2oz from a bottle and I fed him when I got back 4 an a half hours later. He was fine :)

For what it's worth, I've looked after children for 10 years and have known not to take a bottle all day :( We cup fed them. Might be totally different with your DH though as in my case it may have been the additional factor of being unfamiliar.

Glad you got it sorted though :)

I think he just prefers it straight from source and because its usually me offering a bottle he knows he can have what he wants.
