I always thought GF would suit me as I love my sleep but when I read it while pg I felt it was too strict. Now I am taking some of the principles eg she needs to feed well around 10:30 if she is going to sleep in the night...I realise babyfunch has been snacking briefly at night then falling asleep on the boob, hence the repeated night wakings. Hopefully that will help me get her to sleep for longer without following a routine to the letter. I go out every day at different times so couldn't do GF properly even if I wanted to. And there is NO WAY I could get up at 7 every day like she says!!

Might well try the Baby.Whisperer, thanks for the tip (struggling to namecheck on phone I am afraid!)

amey good luck dodging the D&V.

goat hope you feel better soon and that Kid keeps sleeping well.

mummyv I have always managed to get babyfunch to sleep by walking her around in a sling, could your dp try that? she mostly falls asleep while feeding though so I know what you are facing there.

Happy sleeps ladies!

MiniPopsMum2012 Sun 11-Nov-12 23:30:25

mummyv have you tried walking around with baby on shoulder? This generally works for minipoo

MiniPopsMum2012 Sun 11-Nov-12 23:31:17

Arrggggh this bloody phone! Minipop, not minipoo, there's nothing mini about his poos grin

Haha I often typo him as Mimipoo blush

DS just woke crying/screaming as I came to bed - at least it wasn't after I'd gone to sleep! Something is still bothering him though, not sure if it's teeth or not... We'll see how tonight goes.

Night night all xx

Susieloo Mon 12-Nov-12 00:12:52

We are on 2nd feed of the night already approx two and a bit hours after the last!!! Miss marbles has let babyloo know the plan I think, hope I'm not in for a couple of nights like you had marbles. The way this is going I'll be back around two!!

Hope ds settles for you tea

NervousAt20 Mon 12-Nov-12 00:46:19

First feed if te night here, LO hasn't has a bad feed so hoping for 3 hours between the next one. DP has been quite poorly tonight so hoping he's of caught anything

Waves back at evil

susie im gutted about I'm a celeb too, glad I could record it though. When I saw it was on at 9 my first thought was, damn I'm in bed by then blush

MadamGazelleIsMyMum Mon 12-Nov-12 00:56:21

First feed here, trying to persuade DS to have a full feed but this seems to have been unsuccessful so expecting to be back soon!

Doodlekitty Mon 12-Nov-12 01:36:28

Having had me worried sick all day by sleeping and refusing feeds (again) ds has decided now that only milk will do. Been feeding for an hour (that seems like a lot to me, it maybe is not) stopped because he was asleep but now he's awake again and pulling hungry faces. Still hoping hell drop off, but I'm guessing I'll be here a while.

Twobuttonsaway Mon 12-Nov-12 01:44:21

Struggling to keep my eyes open even though this is first feed of the night - well done baby buttons! Though problem with this time is he's really unlikely to go through to morning - oh well, it's early days! Really need to think about a dream feed at some point I suspect.

Had exciting event earlier this evening, baby buttons did his first poo for 6 days!!! Was very glad to see it (and catch it before it went everywhere!!)

funchum8am Mon 12-Nov-12 02:11:38

doodle babyfunch used to sleep all the time then feed like mad - I worried about dehydration but mw said if her nappies are ok and she puts on weight then all is well.

First night feed here, 3 hrs after the start of her last feed so at least a bit better than usual.

Giggling at minipoo!

Doodlekitty Mon 12-Nov-12 02:20:50

Thanks finchum. Had his first weigh today and they were happy and loads of dirty nappies so I guess it's just him. Had a bit more feed and is now asleep but I'm scared to attempt to put him down as I'm sure he'll wake

susie I might have to give you a medal -(solid gold or chocolate at your choice [grin-] ) - Kid is lying here beside me in his new wadded sleeper and he has so far slept beside me ALL NIGHT! And has happily (if noisily) gone down after each feed. This is unheard of. He looks really cute in his brown bear suit, if slightly reminiscent of an American footballer, as the suit is a bit on the big size still! Here's hoping this isn't a fluke.

I shall name check next time - currently my eyeballs are tripping over each other and I am off to enjoy some un-laid-on sleep! smile

Evilwater Mon 12-Nov-12 03:03:53

Awake again. At lest now I can have a cuppa while waiting for LO to settle, but I think he wants to play. Tough. He should have been awake during the day.
Also I thought it was 12 not 02:45, when LO awoke. DP did not like me saying "it's still your turn"

Doddle- glad your happy about the weigh in.
Nervous- hope your DP gets well soon.

Wow goat that sounds good. 1st feed since 10.30 here, but with a bottle of ebm inbwetween with dh. Infacol def helpinng with wind, but he is still up every hour. Sounds very croaky ~ not sure if baby‘s get sore throats?!

Shuddering at mention of GF ~ tried for 2 weeeks withvDs1 and was a wreck by the ennd ~ decided having a pattern, rather than a strict routine, suited me better.

Just got baby D‘s Christmas present today ~a highchair he can ssit in fromm birth. Reckon thiss is the only year l can get away with such. practical presents!

Evilwater Mon 12-Nov-12 03:25:46

Dasiy- yes they do get sore throats. My LO got one while we were trying and failing BF.

NervousAt20 Mon 12-Nov-12 04:05:32

Wow goat that's great. Don't name check just sleep sleep sleep smile

Thanks evil

Second feed of the night here, think LO listened to me when I asked for. E hours because we got 2hr45min so I'm not complaining! Going to push my luck and ask for the same again.

Susieloo Mon 12-Nov-12 04:08:37

Well he went four hours which is better than predicted so can't grumble too much.

smile at goat chocolate medal please, they do look cute in them but I find it really odd not to put a blanket on him, feels really wrong somehow and I wonder if he will have to forever wear a onesie to sleep in as an adult!!

Hoping for easy transfer and to sleep till 7 ish, as usual at this time of night I am starving!

MrsNPattz Mon 12-Nov-12 04:26:46

First feed here, he woke me at half 2 being noisy in his sleep but I just went to the loo and fell back to sleep.

Lol @ minipoo grin

goat glad you have had success with the wadded sleep suits!

I watched about half of I'm a celeb before we came to bed - I'm sure it's going to be like that most nights so think it will be hard to catch up this year sad but sleep is more important smile

MiniPopsMum2012 Mon 12-Nov-12 04:35:48

Morning everyone, we had a projectile vomit incident during last bedtime feed at 10:30pm, so I am back in the 4am club and am bringing gingerbread lattes and marshmallow sticks for everyone.

Minipop's just been fed & then noticed a leaky nappy so just had to try to change that without making him too sick.

Are wadded sleep suits like the sleeping bags you can get?

Hoping to be back in bed by 5am (fingers crossed)

tea how DS settles, we have teeth on the move here again, I think we cannot see one.

MiniPopsMum2012 Mon 12-Nov-12 04:37:45

daisy do you have heating on in LOs room? Try putting a bowl of water in there to help humidity, that may help ease throat (it could be dry?) smile

Izzybuzzybuzzybees Mon 12-Nov-12 04:38:29

Hello!

We've just had an almost 3hr gap between feeds and I made it to bed in that time too. The last 3 nights I've camped on the couch.

Only one small problem, baby buzzy appears to be up for the day. I've fed both sides however he is now lying in my arms wide awake! I'm not happy to put him down like this as he is so little. So goodness knows if we will make it back to bed.

I expressed some milk last night after a feed and got a good 50ml with my manual pump. Hoping to build a supply over next wee while so DH can take a wee turn and let me get more sleep. Anyone any idea how much I'd need for a feed? Baby is around 12 days old, I think! Umm I've lost track of days!

Babys eyes are closing so hopefully if I sit a while he will sleep properly although tbh he looks like he wants food....again!

Ameybee Mon 12-Nov-12 04:57:32

Stingy eyes here- so stupidly tired! When is he going to go more than 2 hours??!
Izzy - I'd say 1.5-2oz, think you can work it out on Kelly mom website xxx

Doodlekitty Mon 12-Nov-12 05:00:36

Have given up on sleep. He's still feeding. Have brought him downstairs so DH can sleep and I will grab a few hours through the day tomorrow. I don't know how people cope with this.
