Hello, can I join in? Goat Junior (Kidlet?) is a ridiculously slow feeder - a philosopher in the making? Hoping for some sleep before having to get up at 6...

Thank you for the new thread techno Smile Sorry you are having a rough night - hopefully this growth spurt will be done very soon! I almost cracked at 6 weeks too, but things should get easier for you very soon.

Minipopsmum I am honestly in awe of how you are surviving on such little sleep Shock I really hope Minipop starts being able to sleep for longer soon, you absolutely deserve a break at this point.

BabyTea has also been having a bit of a growth spurt, or a sleep regression at least - we are back to two hourly wakings anyway. Teething pain really isn't helping either, he keeps waking in an absolute rage because of it.

I have somewhat foolishly agreed to go see an opera with my friend tomorrow night (er, or tonight) which means I won't get home until midnight Confused. I am going to be one tired MummyTea! I told my friend she is in charge of keeping me awake Grin

Right, BabyTea, it's sleepytime again ...

I saw the existence of the other thread but didn't read. Sounds like there are so many of you surviving the sleep deprivation marathon.

Can I join too? My ds has woken up every hour on the hour tonight apart from 1am ..... when the other one woke up. Little one is now muttering omniously in his basket which i am frantically rocking. I think i should maybe give up on sleep tonight.

It ended up being 4.30, and now she's asleep in me due to snotty snuffling. Don't think it's a cold, just intermittent snotty snuffling.

Thanks for new thread, Techno. Keep up the good work. FF won't necessarily help and then you'd be up making bottles every few hours through a growth spurt. It does get easier: this too shall pass.

Hi to all the newbiesSmile

Hello - we have been awake since 3:30, feeding on and off. Finding it hard to keep eyes open! Zzzzzzzz

Hi goat and princess

Thank you for new thread techno and link tea

techno - I posted loads of times saying I was going to give up bf because of cluster feeding which seemed to he happening all the time and I know how incredibly frustrating and tiring it is, I used to repeat to myself over and over again 'eventually he will go to sleep'. It does get easierSmile.

Well we made it to half five which was long ish based on our funny topsy turvey night. Dp's alarm going off in an hour and a half which always wakes up babyloo so time to try and get some zzzzz

Back again, baby Lump is a bit fussy at the boob tonight but I think maybe she's got some trapped wind, theory backed up by the huge poo she's just done which means leaving the nice snuggly warmth of bed and going downstairs to change :( Why is it always at night they chose to do it?!

Good morning sleep mourners!

DD2 (22 wks) wouldn't settle last night, so we played the pick up, put down game until 12.30.

She then woke up at 4.15 wanting to play! I've been feeding her since, in the vain hope that she'll fall asleep.

DD1 will be awake by 6.30

I'm here!!

Ewan the sheep made a difference last night! Baby B certainly settled better - will let you know later if it was just a fluke Grin

Hey everyone, thanks for the thread techno

we had an awful night again. Minipop's tummy still playing him up so he barely slept and when he did he'd only sleep propped upright on me..!

New health visitor is useless, as is new GP. Am at my wits ends, I don't know if this is normal baby behaviour, meds or milk change. Poor little love

hey everyone new :) ignore my moaning and welcome to the thread - he's a virtual espresso and a chocolate digestive.

Hi, I'm new but marking my place as I have been reading the last thread over the past few nights and will join in tonight! My DS is 9 days old and likes 2 to 3 night feeds (I'm so sleepy!) and it will be nice to share virtual choccie biccies and tea with you all!

I will be joining this one I feel. For the past two nights DD has decided at 17 weeks to wake every 2 hours. Soooo tired. Why has she gone back in time?! Think its meant to be a growth spurt, not helped by the fact that she keeps rolling on to her front and waking herself. Oh lordy, I just want sleep. Precious sleep. Hmmm.

MiniPopsMum2012 · 04/10/2012 17:02

weezie I think I remember what that thing you talk of, sleep, is... Grin

so we're meant to be doing the feed, activity, sleep routine and it's been a disaster today. So Minipop has just fed & I am letting him fall asleep. He's not slept properly all day and I don't want him to get over tired.

So so so tired didn't managed to get any sleep today - should make tuna evenings interesting!!

I think we have gone beyond over tired. She just seems so unhappy with everything. Not having a good few days. Not sure how I will stay awake feeding her tonight. My eyes actually drooped when walking with her around town today. I was on the other side of the high street and thought, how did I get here.

Apologies if this has been discounted, but do try cosleeping and dream feeding.

And if you can't, then keep the room you feed in quiet and dark. Very occasional I have a sleepless night and I find the nights I read or try and watch something, I feel much worse the following day. For me its not the sleeplessness, it's the eye strain that's the real killer.

Big disclaimer although I exclusively breastfed 3 for a year+ I might have forgotten how shattering it was and this is my revisionist take on it all.

I am ancient, btw the last night feed was over 10 years ago.
Good luck and restful nights!

Hello smicha and weezie and thank you help. I'm going to keep attempting dream feeding.

Well I have had a very miserable baby today who then fell asleep for 3 fairly solid hours between 2-5 so if I get him to sleep before 9 it will be a miracle, I also think I am in for a re-run of last nights short stints. He still has a red cheek and feels a bit warm so I think his teeth are starting to move, I'm debating calpol but I'm not sure it's pain that's bothering him or he's just in a bad mood!!

See you all at some point through the nightGrin

Oh susie, fingers crossed the mice pay you a visit with the sparkly sleeping dust. :)

After a battle of wills, Minipop napped at 6pm, he's just had his 8pm feed & I am going to try & get him to bed properly.

Please please please let him sleep :o)

Hi Smile Please may I join too? DD3 is 7 weeks old now and we are feeding roughly twice a night. She's pretty efficient but I do find myself nodding off in the rocking chair with her which is not good!

We are in no real routine just feeding on demand which makes evenings a bit tricky as all she wants to do is feed and dd1 also wants my attention after being in school all day!

technoduck · 04/10/2012 21:11

Welcome to whatever, smicha and weezie! Hoping for a good night here been out in the buggy all day and to are baby group. But it could go all wrong cause ducking hasn't had his normal naps and neither have I, feeling more knackered than normal!
Feel asleep with him on me again last night, the feeds I'm ok with its the keeping him upright for 30mins after which is the killer. Just doing are first 30mins after his feed now, so if if going to follow the same pattern he has the last few nights i'll see you all in a couple of hours.

Well almost time to 'dreamfeed'. Main issue would be she hasn't really slept so this should be fun. Oh well.

Shamelessly lurked on your last thread, so really I should say hello!

DS (DC2) 4 weeks old today. EBF on demand. Very little sleep. Moses basket refuser so am co sleeping reluctantly for some of the night every night.

Feeds every 2-3 hours and is a hungry hungry boy.

Hope I can offer and receive support through these trying times!
