Quote of the week

CaptainNancy's (admirably succinct) family rules: "Don't be a dingbat/duffer. Keep calm and carry on. Dream big. Shut up and get on with it."

Recipe of the week

Carmenere's cinder toffee: sweet, sticky, made-in-five-minutes toffee squares that'll spark off a few 'yums' among the 'oohs' and 'aahs' of your little fireworks-watchers.

(5 Posts)
oh I might make it, if I have time to read the book that is ! Should all be well done and dusted by then ....
Discussion for March Book of the Month will be Tuesday 31 March - love to have you but understand if you're somewhat otherwise engaged...

WHAT WAS LOST and THIS BOOK WILL SAVE YOUR LIFE currently neck and neck, with the former just 1 vote ahead.

One more day of voting to go, the poll will close tomorrow at midnight so if you haven't already chosen then make a stand now...
when's the discussion ? Have voted but unlikely to join in discussion as am due to give birth on 13th but will do best !
Done and bumping for you. Have voted for one that is in the huge pile that I have to read.
No theme this time - just four talented and funny writers. Vote now to choose your March Book of the Month.

Poll closes at midnight on 20 February.

And don't forget we'll get together to chat about February's dreamy book, THE ENCHANTED APRIL, on Tuesday 24 February, between 8 and 10pm.

If you're new to the Bookclub you can check out how the Bookclub works, plus you can always grab a bit of literary inspiration from Mumsnet's Best Books Ever.

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
