Quote of the week

CaptainNancy's (admirably succinct) family rules: "Don't be a dingbat/duffer. Keep calm and carry on. Dream big. Shut up and get on with it."

Recipe of the week

Carmenere's cinder toffee: sweet, sticky, made-in-five-minutes toffee squares that'll spark off a few 'yums' among the 'oohs' and 'aahs' of your little fireworks-watchers.

OK. I've had a look at the write up for 'What a Carve Up' and I'd like to go for that one. Before I do, do you have any preference for used/new books/ books that are a little ragged around the corners and creased? I tend to buy the cheapest one I can find, but am happy not to (and a bit worried that they might fall apart before they make it to you!)

What do you think?

OK. I'm going to have a look on Amazon (probably tomorrow now because I'm struggling to keep up with the discussion about the book anyway!) and will let you know! Sounds as though 'What a carve up' is a funny one though, so that will be my first port of call on Amazon to have a look at the reviews, etc.

I haven't got any of his other books as yet, but if you let me know what you've got/are going to get then I can get different ones, we can swap addresses and away we go...

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
