JUNE BOOK OF THE MONTH HERE - see the selection and vote now

(18 Posts)
Sorry for the delay, a few glitches on the poll page kept us back but here is our brand new shiny June Book of the Month page.

We've extended the voting until 8pm Thursday 5th June so you've got just over a week to make up your mind. And we'll be discussing the winner on Tuesday 1st July usual time 8-10pm (with an author chat attached, we hope).
Great news - Jonathan Coe will be joining us LIVE on Tuesday 1st July for an author chat - start thinking of what you'd like to put to him and pop all questions on the discussion thread when you have a mo....

And if you know any Coe fans, do tell them to come along, even if they aren't reading his latest book. I'm sure he'll be up for chatting about all his work..

Glad to be of service wink

I think it might well be considered grounds for divorce if I ever did lose my head and splash out. Oh, but they are beautiful.

PS there is a pocket of serious Coe fans on MN, isn't there? Sure I have seen many of them nail their colours to the mast in the adult fiction threads before.

I was given a copy of the hb for my birthday last year, which I've been saving up. Has not stopped me coveting this edition though... when I win the lottery etc. etc.

If you buy the Times newspaper in W H Smith today, you can get hold of the Jonathan Coe book for just £2.99. I have mine!
Three cheers for our alpha male - Jonathan Coe has beaten the other three into submission and is our June Book of the Month, hurrah!

the paperback was published this very day, you'll find it here as well as the usual outlets.

I'll get onto him about an author chat right now. And don't forget that discussion night is *Tuesday 1st July*, usual time, usual place.

btw, did you see that Rose Tremain won the Orange Prize last night? Sad for Charlotte, although I'm a big Rose fan too and its about time she got to win something.
Hmmm, that might be my fault - the tech guys probably set it to the end of the day rather than 8pm. We had a few problems getting it set up so that's probably why the times got confused.

I reckon we have our winner...Jonathan Coe inches ahead of the other three. But shall I wait for 8pm just to be certain?

Right, now I'm confused. The note at the top of this page says 'polls close 8pm' - the page itself says '12.00AM'.

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
