Oooh have nearly finished, it IS a bit hard for me after a day with the kids, I normally read crap at that time of night (e.g. Ben Elton is next in line).

Have enjoyed it though, especially how useless both sides are! We'd never win a war these days with the slagging off that the British Press would give us!
It makes a cracking pressent - have now given it to three people for Christmas (incuding my mother in law, whose father features on page 194 as an M15 agent which is quite weird).

V glad you'll join us sophiewd, I think Ben will be great.

Right, off to locate the sellotape once more...

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh same night as our book club, but think I will skip that one as so enjoying Agent Zig Zag, my DH won't have to read it as I keep telling him what happens.

ooh, am looking forward to this one

So glad he can join us grin
AS if you don't have enough already, here's another event to celebrate: our December Book of the Month, Agent Zig Zag, has been shortlisted for the Costa (formerly Whitbread) Awards. Its up for Biography of the Year, against Young Stalin and Rudolf Nureyev (and a book called Fatty Batter which sounds intriguing and right up my street). Here's the Costa Awards link if you're keen to see all the nominees

The award will be announced on January 3rd, and if Ben wins his category, he'll go on to the final and compete to be Best Book of 2007. So keep your fingers crossed...

(Its a nice alternative to X FActor. Can't watch SameDifference without feeling nauseous. Will be sticking to book competitions from now on.)
And you can get your copy here if you need one...
Has anyone got their 2008 diary yet?
If so, pen this in - the discussion night for December's book (Agent ZigZag by Ben Macintyre) will be on Thursday January 10th at the usual time of 8-10pm.

We're thrilled that Ben will be joining us live to answer questions from 9pm onwards.

And if you haven't got a diary, don't worry. I'll be reminding you in the New Year and asking everyone to get their questions ready for our illustrious author.

What with Agent ZigZag's marvellous adventures and last night's Spooks, am feeling entirely knowledgeable about M15.

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
