I read alot and order alot of Dvds and books from Amazon. So of course when I saw a FREE months trial of Amazon prime which means that you get your deliveries quicker of course I clicked on yes. Stupid mistake as this month Amazon has charged me £49! without asking. However it seems the small print stated that I had to unsubscribe otherwise I would be charged. Anyone know how I can get a refund? This fee is for the whole year I think.

Yes, Amazon prime is the the whole year and you need to unsubscribe so you dont get charged.

Tbh, it saves me a LOT of money as I use amazon far too much quite a bit Blush

They might refund you, but then again, they are within their rights not to.

Ring up tell them you didn't realise they would just take the money and they will refund you.

And don't forget to translate this lesson to anywhere else that offers you an introductory free trial...

That is the risk you take. I did the same in the Christmas run-up when pregnant with DS, thinking would use it for presents then cancel within a month. Hey ho, DS was born 3 weeks early and while I was still in hospital, the month clicked over. I have to say, if you order lots from them it is probably actually worthwhile. I find it particularly useful for birthdays that I only remember the day before. Try asking for a refund but you were 'warned' so I wouldn't expect much.

Oooh, just keep it, Amazon Prime is brilliant. Think of Christmas and birthdays as well as all the books you buy - you'll have saved the money in no time.

That happened to me. I emailed to explain and they sent back a really nice email saying they valued my custom and would refund the money. It was actually so nice to feel that they offered such good customer service and I've probably used them more since.

I've done the free trial twice now and there was a warning to go and untick the "automatically sign me up for a year" box if I didn't want it. I did this right away and still got my free month out of them.

I think its good value if you order regularly - and sometimes big items....I have ordered TV's, large outdoor toys, heavy items etc and dont get charged...fab!

To be fair, there arent many weeks that go by that I dont order something for gifts, birthdays, treats for me! xmas etc The Sales are good too....

This happened to me and they refunded me straight away after I emailed them, without any hassle.
