Blogger and a mum of a Special Needs Child

I would like to take a chance to introduce myself. I am a Finnish mum living here in England, and I became a mum to a really precious baby girl in April last year. She was born two months early, and spent over two months in NICU. At one point we were told that she might not survive - but now we have a healthy 15 months old baby at home. She has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy and profound deafness, so the future is still unknown. Will she ever walk? Will she learn to talk?

I write a blog about all this - about how it is like to be a mother in a new(ish) country to yourself, when your own side of the family cannot be present with you at all times.. How I find parenthood in England, how does it feel like getting such diagnoses for your firstborn..

I recently started my blog in English, so yet I'm going through the pregnancy side of our story.. As English isn't my first language, I feel a bit hesitant expressing myself with it. Therefore, please, all the feedback, suggestions and ideas are highly appreciated!

Is there any other parents with special needs kids blogging? I would love to hear from you and get to know your stories - please leave me links! I'm obviously not avoiding either the parents of so called "normal" children - I'm very keen on getting to know you, all the nice mums out there.. All support with parenting issues are appreciated :)

Hi. I am a Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator in a secondary school in Bedfordshire. I have a blog where I share advice given to many of the parents and children I work with. I have many more topics to come in the following weeks but any suggestions will be welcome.
