I agree with what you've said in your blog, that readers often want a little bit of an 'about' section. Bear in mind that it doesn't necessarily have to be in chronological order - just a few salient points about you that make people understand what makes you tick. People often keep these sections very short, although obviously there's no hard-and-fast rule about that.

I think (FWIW!) that the simple parchment-like background works well, because this blog is all about the words.

Have a think about how you want to use your blog. Do you want to build readership as much as possible, or keep it just for people you know? There are plenty of tips on how to build readership, and I'm happy to chat about this if it would be useful.

By the way, I've just realized that you're primarily asking for feedback on your poetry, rather than on the blog per se. Sorry! And feel free to ignore everything I've said! (I don't really feel qualified to try and be a poetry critic - sorry! Am purely a prose kinda girl.)
