I have had the mirena since December 2011 and all was fine until 3 months ago, I had the mirena due to suffering from extremely bad periods throughout puberty so the mirena was a god send, no periods at all! until 3 months ago when I had a light period so I checked for my strings and hey ho they've disappeared. I have been to see my GP and a specialist and neither of them can locate the strings and due to me not having children and being in so much pain whilst they are performing the examination neither have been able to retrieve the strings either. I am currently on a 5 month waiting list for an ultrasound, my doctor has said not to worry because there is NO WAY the mirena can move or come out but I'm sure that's not true. Would appreciate any advice you have? Whether any body has been through the same or if any one knows of possible outcomes? I just want some honest advice please xxx Emily xxx

Emily have you thought of getting this moved to family planning or chat? You might get some more responses Smile
