I'm working on a new blog and would really appreciate any feedback...

It's still a work in progress but I'd love to know what you think so far?

The blog is called Motherbare and is a collection of anonymous thoughts on being a parent.

Thank-you.

Mark.

Interesting idea, but I think the layout is hard to follow and the funky fonts nearly impossible to read.

Ooh, I like both the layouts and the funky fonts.

I'm not sure if it won't be a bit sound-bitee. Not that there's anything wrong with sound-bitee but I wonder if there is going to be anything more 'substantial'? It depends what people send in I guess...

Is it along the lines of the annonymous confessions blog, that started in the US, that became very big, didn't it?

Thanks for the comments, back to the drawing board I think.

I love the post secrets, that where I stole, I mean took inspiration from.

hmm, but there's room for all sorts of things isn't there? Keep going.

I do think the idea is good. I just think you need to look at the layout. It's hard to read.

It's lovely! Great fun and VERY different and individual - well done! BUT lots of very short bits don't hold the reader's attention for long, which might make people less likely to follow it or subscribe. A lot of them would make great Tweets. I'd suggest those bits are used in a sidebar with longer posts kind of anchoring it. Are you on Twitter? You should be - you'd love it!

I personally love it. Yes, it's similar to the Post Secret blog but it's very unique for the UK and the design is nothing like I've seen on any other blogs.

IMHO you have to go against the grain sometimes to be noticed as there are SO many blogs out there and you'll never please all of the people all of the time.

I do think you have to work out how you're going to "market" it though. Yes, I agree that it would be a great Twitter-style blog or even a Tumblr blog. Short, snappy updates that keep people amused whilst they're browsing on a tea-break or scrolling through on a mobile (so make it tip tip mobile friendly).

Thank-you everyone.

You're right Tee, on a different screen it was very difficult to read.

YoungDebbie - the sidebar for shorter posts is a great idea, thanks. I am on twitter (@sonnyandluca) and you rumbled me, the shorter ones were originally my tweets which I was using as examples.

Thanks Typecast, all really helpful, its currently as unfriendly to mobiles as is gets so definitely a priority.
