With this week's news of the CofE's refusal to ordain women priests and the government contempt which Sue Berelowitz's report into sexual abuse has encountered, I find myself thinking social attitudes towards sex and gender haven't moved forward much since medieval times - must the next generation of bright, ambitious women face the same prejudices we have?
