Hello all

Tickets are selling out fast, so we thought it was time for a sticky thread dedicated to anything and everything BlogFest... This is the place for introductions, questions, excitedness, nerves, wardrobe crises and meetings-up.

Do grab an "I'm attending Blogfest" badge to let other bloggers know you'll be there.

Join StitchThis' blogalong here and send out live updates from BlogFest.

JaxB has done a lovely linky over here - so scribble a quick intro post on your blog, zip over to hers, and add it in. Don't forget to upload a pic so that others can recognise you - as jax says, it's all a bit less nerve-wracking if you've got a mental image of who your fellow BlogFesters are going to be .

You can also pop over to Facebook and join our event page.

We've got a lovely FAQ page over here, but if you're puzzled or uncertain about anything, let us know on this thread and we'll try to answer as quickly as we can.

Oh I really want to come! Unfortunately I'm on my own with the kids throughout November thanks to my husband's job. I hope you all have an amazing fest! Maybe next time.

I hope you all have a great time at Blogfest and its a fabulous success ( so that you hold another one next year, after first consulting with me about the date!)
I would have loved to attend, but its Dd's birthday and apparently me jaunting off down to London isn't what she wants for her birthday, selfish child. Wink
I'll look forward to everyone's blog posts instead.

I'm nervous and not sure
I only started blogging this week!!! - www.pressiesbypebbles.com
I'm really enjoying it and have set up twitter and fb accounts to try and increase my "fan base" (not sure if that's the right wording!! as well but feel like i'm jumping into the deep end
Do you think it'll be helpful for a total beginner like me?
Any comments really appreciated
Thanks
Pebbles

Hello Pebbles,
what a great start. I like your writing style, it is chatty and friendly. And the mixed topics.

Oh MmeLindor, that's just made my day, thank you so much
So do you think Blogfest would be helpful for a beginner or maybe wait a year?
I definitely like the look of the social media side cos that's what goes over my head at the moment?
Thanks so much

Pebbles
I think it would be great for a beginner blogger - but you will have to think about if blogging is a long term thing for you, or something that you are just trying out.

If you feel you will stick with it, then you will get tons of info and motivation at the Blogfest.

I'm actually now going to be in London about a month later, but I can't afford both. The December trip is to meet with a client (and have a jolly with MN friends, I won't lie Grin), so I can justify the expense.

I just can't justify that and BlogFest.

December will definitely lead to income. BlogFest could or could not!

That is understandable, Tee. This will be my third trip to London this year, and it all adds up. Thank God for EasyJet.

MmeLindor - it's my birthday today and my fab husband has just told me I can go...... so I bit the bullet and bought a ticket. So so so excited but a bit nervous about not knowing anyone but hopefully we'll all be in the same situation :) So excited. Thanks for the encouragement

I know a lovely snuggly new born will more than make up for missing out but still...

That is great, Pebbles. None of us actually 'know' each other - the only person I have met before is BIWI. Hope you had a happy birthday.

Petite
your snuggly baby will more than make up for missing the BF. As reasons for not attending, it is pretty much the best one I have heard so far. :)

I'm really really hoping to go, but I'm not going to be able to afford to pay for a ticket yet and I think they will have sold out by the time I'm in a position to do so...maybe I can get a return from someone who is no longer able to go?

I've registered for BlogFest and it said we'd get asked which sessions we wanted to register for when we signed up but I wasn't asked this.

Will I get an email asking me or will I get asked on the day?

I've only been blogging for a wee while so I'm hoping to find out lots and lots on the day.

My blog is MumToTeens and I've put my Blogfest badge on there already.

I'm a little bit excited Grin

Report
pebbles77 · 10/10/2012 20:34

I was just about to ask about the sessions as well.

Also I'm pretty sure I was asked my proper name but I wasn't asked my blog name - or maybe i should have put my blog name as my "name"???

I'm confusing myself now :) but any info would be great

I'm also getting very excited (but still a little nervous)

It's true, I'm like a freaking Mumsnet evangelist. I'm recruiting! Pebbles said MmeLindor and I inspired her to blog, and one of my readers signed up for BlogFest because of me. You can send the cheque in the post.
