Hi, I have been writing a blog for about 3 mints now and have only done 13 posts in that time. I a wrote about days out in my local area, tend just to pat links on fb and twitter so it doesn't have a huge audience but I enjoy doing it.

Anyway, tonight my dad ran to tell me that a picture of my ds, that I took and featured Ian recent blog, has been printed in a local Sunday newspaper. I have now obtained a copy and the pic takes up about 1/4 of a page. You can't see my ds's face on it
Though.

He feature is entitled 7 places to go in (local area) and one of the places is the place I wrote about in the blog that includes the photo. Is it acceptable for a newspaper to use a picture like this? Or do I have to look into copyrighting my work further? Feeling a bit perturbed by it tbh!

How do you put a copyright notice on it? :)

Just put a wrtten notice somewhere stating " Copyright (c) (Your name) 2012" ... even if it hasn't complain to the paper... legally they'll prob get away with it but it's far from best practice!

Ok thanks, I will do. Quite naive of me not to really, but was just a little shocked. I will still complain!!

I would... it's not that I mind people using thins from my blog or quoting chunks of it... but I want to know where it's going and I want a name-check and the blog address printed/linked to lol x

I think it was cheeky of them to use your material without even asking you or at least mentioning your name.
