Hi - I'm Anna, a new blogger on the block.
My blog is called Anna-notherthing
www.thenews-on.blogspot.com
My latest blog is called 'Confessions of a Voucher-holic'

I'm trying to get to grips with the technical aspects of blogging, especially in terms of adding tags, metatags etc etc.

Also trying to learn how to get the blog seen. So far, Facebook is my main source of traffic. But that's about it!

I'd welcome any tips on how to 'grow' my blog.

Hello Anna and welcome! You'll pick up lots of good tips from the Mumsnet bloggers forum so you're in the right place! One great way to learn more about blogging - what works, what doesn't, what feels right for you - is simply to look at lots of other people's blogs. Loads on here to choose from on the blogger's directory (I'm right at the end of the alphabetical listing - //www.youngbyname.me - should have married a Mr Aardvark instead of Mr Young!) or on the latest posts bit. Facebook is a great way to get views from people you know, but to expand your readers further, you need to reach those you don't know. Not as tricky at it sounds! Try seeking out other blogs on similar subjects to yours and leave thoughtful comments on theirs with a link back to yours. Many will check you out from curiosity! Also try Twitter - great way of networking with strangers who soon become friends! Twitter takes a bit of effort to get your head round it - it's not as simple as those 140 character messages might make it seem - but it's worth persevering. I've met some lovely people through it who now follow my blog - and I've discovered some brilliant new blogs there too that I wouldn't otherwise have come across. good luck and have fun!

Thanks for the warm welcome and the helpful advice. I'm familiar with FB but it is just friends and I would like to expand my horizons. I have joined Twitter but it does confuse the hell out of me at the moment so, like you say, I need to persevere. I'll have a nose at some other blogs (including yours) and try a bit of reciprocal blogging by leaving my address etc. As well as getting a 'feel' for what's out there.
Good to 'speak' and thanks again for the tips. I'll give them a whirl!
