In need of a weightloss / getting fit buddy

I must look mental if anyone is reading this, generally talking to myself grin

I listened to my CD again last night, and after I made a curry. Didn't want rice or chips, so just put a part bake baguette in the oven and had a couple of slices of that with it - ate probably the equivalent of half a chicken breast and felt perfectly full.... its definitely affecting how much I eat,

also making me want to move around more too - I have an office based sit at your desk all day type job, but by lunchtime I am chomping at the bit to get out for a walk - I guess the lovely sunshine must be helping there too!

Rode to work this morning which woke me up brilliantly, though didn't put a coat on and was FREEZING for the first 5 mins or so! Be interested to see what numbers next week brings!

have you thought about trying out a bit of magic McKenna yourself? The book / cd / dvd combo was less than £9 I think off amazon

I want to lose weight too but I have zero motivation at the minute and just don't know where to start! confused

I am eating more protein / less carbs (didn't think possible) and much less in general of everything

am finding writing my thoughts down very useful, so going to keep going...

Lunchtime yesterday I went for a walk, bought some bits to make a baguette at my desk ... I would normally finish the whole one (mini baguette) plus some crisps or something... ate just over half, no extras.

Started feeling a little hungry around 3 so ate some crisps then, but realised I didn't want them so finished.

dinner last night, made less as was aware I wasn't too hungry - also was noticably less carbs than normal.... did finish didn't snack after

I noticed no snacking between meals yesterday and less thinking about actual food...

Today cycled to work, had a small bowl of cornflakes and two breakfast biscuits

so far I am definitely eating less - and I don't think that is me 'trying' particularly... swamped with loads of study and normally find myself snacking with that

I bought the Paul McKenna hypnotic gastric band book.

It arrived yesterday and I read it / listened to the CD last night - fingers crossed!

last ngiht I hadn't eaten dinner prior to the cd, and didn't feel hungry enough for what I had planned (lasagne) after so made 2 crumpets and left half of one
So far today I had breakfast - didn't finish it, and not feeling hungry again yet

We'll see how the next few days go

Well I rode in to work today so thats a start smile

I will look into low carbing etc I think - not sure if I'd manage it though - am a bit of a carb fiend. I could certainly do with cutting down in that area

Thanks Needs - SW I don't think works for me. To be honest I just need to learn the right balance as a way of life - I don't want to say to myself, I can have this - I can't have that, it just makes me crave the stuff I'm 'not allowed'

OP I joined SW (not a plug, not everyones cup of tea).

I loved takeaways and junk.

10wks in and I am 1st 12lbs down.

What works for me is the syn system where I try on the whole to eat syn free and allow myself to have a bag of crisps and a choc most days as my treat (using syn allowance). Doing it this way I don't feel deprived and have found it easy to discipline myself.

I set small goals (have hit everyone of them so far), and because I can see the difference (3 sizes down) it's the motivation that keeps me going. I also do the Wii fit a couple of times a week and have signed up for the race for life.

Still about 3stone to lose.

try low carbing? ive lost over 3 stone now. also a bootcamp class 3x a week and running 3 x a week....c25k programme is doable for everyone

my bmi has just gone from obese to overweight....3 stone to go now

I've been to physio fir my back too, it was them who explained it was because of my (lack of) core causing my pelvis to over tilt. The acute problem is better now (spasms) so have been signed off and advised to work on my deep core

sounds like you have done amazingly grin how long did it take??

I'm 40. Have lost about 5 1/2 stone but still classed as overweight! Core non existent! Back pain too. Same goals as you.
I manage the gym 3x a week. Seen physio about core and back. Tried pilates (not for me) and yoga.
Trying to focus on what I do eat rather than denying myself. Much more veg. Staying off cake, crisps, chocolate and chips.
Planning to do race for life this year. (Can't run but can walk it.)

I'm 32 5'4" and weigh.... well far too much. I need to lose 4/5 stone and am finding that daunting. I've lost 10lb so far this year, though that was mostly through flu - I have kept it off.

A friend recently told me he was worried about me sad about the health effects of my weight - I already have asthma and a buggered back ( going back to my slim / fit days) so I can see his point tbh.

I took my bust / waist / hip / thigh measurements last night, and they were shocking - though on the good side I did the hip:waist ratio thingy and that shows me as low risk - just!

So my plan is to aim for a slow and steady weightloss of 1 or 2 lb a week - I want it to stay off! I also want to try and get some fitness back but have a few stumbling blocks there:

1 - My deep core is shot (2 c-sections) so am limited in what I can do whilst working to improve that
2- My back is shot (caused by the core) so need to be careful, have jogged in the past but can't do that at the mo
3 - DH works all hours so not much time available where I can get out of the house to do something (anything on a regular timescale anyway)

I am looking into possibilities of going for a 30 min swim 1/2 times a week in my lunch hour - depending on costs and also hoping to ride my bike to work at least once a week (4 miles nearly) now the weather is getting warmer again

Anyone out there want to help keep me motivated? I have worked out that at 1lb a week - by my holiday I can be another 16lb down and by the end of the year another 37lb so 47lb in total, which is what ? over 3 stone, this time next year I could be nearly there if I can get this

My motivations (noting for myself)

I want to be a good role model for the DC - DD especially
I want to be healthy
I want to be around to see them grow up
I want to be able to enjoy an active life without my back / lungs affecting it
I want to be comfortable in my skin
I want to look good again!
