HI can i join you please?

I have just had a baby (baby number 5 actually!) i was 94 kg when i fell pregnant and she is 4 weeks now,im 91kg,i didnt really put any weight on when pregnant which is lucky really as i didnt try not to,i just tend not to eat as much when im pregnant as i dont feel like it.

ANyway, she is only 4 weeks old and im breastfeeding but i feel like im ready to do something about my weight,i am thinking, use mfp,go for a walk with the buggy every day for half an hour and use the exercise for 15 minutes every other morning,i know that sounds like not that much but i think its achievable for me at the moment and i dont want to do too much and get tired and give up,or affect my milk supply.

Any other breastfeeders trying mfp out there?

ooh just got back into using mfp this week to get me back on 5:2 track - I'm being honest with it now, whereas before (like Andi) I'd lie to it blush

Neitheronethingortheother Thu 07-Nov-13 12:14:10

I'm going to try and use mfp also. Aiming to cut out the junk during the week and max my exercise. am sick of trying different diets.

jchocchip Thu 31-Oct-13 07:37:58

Hmm yesterday I had an evening meal out sprung on me. It was scrummy, and good job I had been for a run snd a swim in the morning so not a complete disaster! Salad day today smile

jchocchip Tue 29-Oct-13 17:57:07

I try to be honest to the app but sometimes don't weigh things or lose track of just how much chocolate I've eaten!

AndiW1 Tue 29-Oct-13 12:49:01

The thing I find with using MFP is I find myself lying to the app- as if it'll disapprove of my lack of willpower! Clearly need to change my entire attitude towards food. hmm

Does anyone else find themselves doing this?

jchocchip Tue 29-Oct-13 06:37:13

I'm trying to log every day again set my calories to maintenance for the moment and trying to pull a deficit. Need to get back into the mindset to log as I go along. Then I will set a proper target. Yesterday was bad with kfc for lunch as I was working away from the office and meeting went on late. Today it will be soup or the salad bar! Still looks too dark to go for a run... I just need a good kick to stay focused sad

Hi jchochip! No this thread basically died after a while, I suppose because everyone does their chatting on MFP? How have you been getting on?

jchocchip Sat 26-Oct-13 15:55:55

I'm starting again, has no one posted since August??

Lalamumtoone Sat 17-Aug-13 08:42:31

I am back of holiday and need to shift some weight! I've decided mfp is for me. Please add me to give me motivation! Cheekychops38. Good luck everyone!

Hi, I'm new to mfp, just starting out. I've sent a few friend requests, my name starts with Lucy (won't put the whole thing as it outs me!). Off to Tescos in a bit to stock up on good stuff. Yogurt with berries for brekkie I think.

Finally cake I can 'have' with out logging.

Oh and I'd like to lose another two stone to get me to a size 12.

Intermediate goal of one more stone to get my BMI under 25

MFPname Fri 16-Aug-13 12:05:57

Hello, I'd like to join the gang please! Will add a few names I can see on here but please feel free to add me too, my user name is rachelhumph
I've name changed for this post as my mfp user name is not very anonymous :-)

I lost about a stone so far but had a break as I had a hip replacement 5 weeks ago and weight is starting to creep up now so time to get back on it.

I do find that I only really lose if I stay quite a way under the 1200 cal, low days of 900 seem to do the job (not every day but if I'm not hungry it's good if I can do that a few days a week). Perhaps I am more sedentary than MFP can imagine :-)

I've got a fitbit and aiming to get more and more active as I recover from op but won't eat the exercise cals.

NeedChoos Fri 16-Aug-13 08:24:18

Delurking and I've sent a few requests to a few of you.

I've been doing mfp 3 weeks and lost 2.5lbs....

Crunchymunchyhoneycakes Tue 13-Aug-13 19:10:40

It's that idea that something you will regret is a treat isn't it? I find that hard to break away from too. I don't drink so its more likely to be sweets for me but it never really hits the spot the way I want it too and then after I feel rubbish!

So don't do it!

I am a bit off track due to going out for lunch with my dh but it was worth it - amazing Indian food. Estimated my calories at 1000 - I hope it wasn't more than that maybe even a bit less - we didn't have anything in a creamy sauce or any pakoras but it was a bit of a feast all the same! Hope I haven't immediately regained the pound I lost!

I'm thinking about doing the shred when I can do proper exercise again(can't at moment due to minor op). Looks mental.

Delurking grin
I have scrolled back through and added a few names - thank you to those that have accepted me (watching54) on MFP

Home alone atm. Which is good, but struggling to resist opening bottle of wine as a "treat". Keep telling myself "you are not a dog, do not reward with food" I've hit my goal of calories today (1300) and I am NOT going to eat back my exercise extras

Please help me to resist/distract me!

herladyship Fri 09-Aug-13 22:35:26

Thank you smile

Have sent lots of requests <desperate emoticon>

Crunchymunchyhoneycakes Fri 09-Aug-13 14:25:08

Just put the username into the email bit penny and it'll work.

herladyship Thu 08-Aug-13 22:36:22

I'm not able to search for you by your MFP usernames? It only offers me FB or email.. any tips?

(I'm 'pennyat61' if anyone wants to add me)

Ooh raspberries. I've been having strawberries, as if I get to the grocery early enough, the grocer sells yesterdays off cheapsmile
I think mfp sets the goals too low- when I first joined mfp I did the 1200cal a day recommended and really struggled to lose. I raised to 1500 I found I lost weight much faster. (althoufh I pyt it back on when I stopped)Now that I exercise regularly, I have set it at 1700 a day, but don't eat back exercise burn back.
Very happy that i've lost 4lbs this week.

Oh and I've discovered a great food blog at http://www.skinnytaste.com/ also Pinterest is good for finding recipes I think.

Hey, joined the thread ages ago then went on holiday and stopped counting calories. My husband got diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and needs to lose a lot of weight so in the process of overhauling the family diet I am back on course with my healthy eating. What I've done to make it manageable is to set a target of .5 lb a week, set my exercise level to sedentary (although I am probably more lightly active) and stopped accounting for breastfeeding(14 month old who although he eats three meals a day is still a big fan of milk as well) at all. This gives me a calorie allowance of 1410 which feels manageable and I am again losing, slowly and sustainably. I seem to plateau for a few days then another lb or so will disappear - I should probably weigh myself less, I currently weigh every morning blush

I am hoping to do some more exercise too but I had a cervical treatment yesterday so have to take it easy for a week or two - I feel fine but I want to follow the advice.

My snack of choice at the moment is a punnet of raspberries or a nectarine - both great at this time of year, also a couple of squares of dark chocolate is a great treat.

I'm kidsparrow on myfitnesspal if anyone wants to add me smile
