Last one filled up really quickly, so here is a brand, spanking and distinctly thinner thread for you to fill up.

prettybird Fri 25-Jan-13 08:21:33

That's 'cos we're all on the Week 3 thread now!grin

HeyHoHereWeGo Fri 25-Jan-13 08:21:13

Oh my.
Yes I have just realised.
Everyone else is on week three.
I'm the last one at the party.
All the cool girls have moved on to the cool party and I'm here in my kitchen wearing a party hat all by myself.

(But this is my week one and I'm celebraating 5 pounds gone, and 7 pounds gone for DH and we are AMAZED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

HeyHoHereWeGo Fri 25-Jan-13 08:17:55

How did I do that?
Seriously did I actually kill the busiest thread of the year?
Stone dead and its all my fault....

HeyHoHereWeGo Tue 22-Jan-13 16:09:14

I went straight next door and got them no problem from another chemist.
It was so embarrassing, and I only thought of all my withering answers after I had left blushing from ear to ear.
I always answer honestly if asked a direct question, its a pain.

Me - May I have some Ketostix please
Cashier - I'll just have to get the pharmacist
Pharmacist - Are you diabetic?
Me - No
Pharmacist - Is it for the Atkins diet?
Me - No a different sort of low carb diet
Pharmacist - I'm sorry but we dont usually sell them for that purpose
Me - mumble mumble mumble

BIWI Tue 22-Jan-13 15:54:11

A quick Google reveals that it's a common problem, and it's been going on for some time - I read some posts from 2002 complaining about it!

BIWI Tue 22-Jan-13 15:49:23

Well you don't need them anyway!

How bloody rude of them. How dare they?!

If you're asked again, you simply tell them that they aren't for you but you're buying for someone else.

Or - ask for the store manager to come and explain why you can't buy them. It's not as if you are planning to use them for something illegal, is it?!

HeyHoHereWeGo Tue 22-Jan-13 15:47:09

blush blush blush

I was just refused Ketostix in Boots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"I'm sorry madam but we dont usually sell them for that purpose"

So so embarrassed.
I was on the verge of buying c£50 worth of vitamins, she had already rung them through when the pharmacist refused to sell me the ketostix.
I said "Sorry I dont want these now, I'll take my money elsewhere"
But I was so embarrassed I said it quietly and quickly so she may not haveheard me, and the rushing off without the vitamins I was about to buy may have added to the overall impression that I am, clearly an addict for erm
ketostix.................

well done on everyone's losses smile smile half a pound here as long as im not gaining im happy.

Half thanks for recommending the dvd, it says up to 12 months so ive emailed them to ask would it be helpful for a 16 month old. on mumsnet people say if you can afford it go to a sleep specialist, they are like £245 a consultation! well i am flipping trying to pay the bills here, and i just figured why don't i train to be a sleep therapist?? that way, sort my dd out and land my fortunes. surely it can't be that hard? (yeah, its easy telling everyone else what they should do, but a nightmare trying to do it yourself!)

ok back to reality. feeling more energised already as a result of bootcamp

BandersnatchCummerbund Mon 14-Jan-13 08:04:31

3lbs off for me (mildly annoyed as it was 4 yesterday!) But that makes 7 in total since 1st January - not bad! Well done everyone, you are all amazing.

Tough day in store as I'm off to the London Boat Show for work all day, no doubt lunch will be sandwiches on the run so wil have to work hard to find something else.

Will update spreadsheet tonight as cannot do it on my phone!
