Recipe of the week

penguinmum's creamy fish pie: smoky, seasonal fish in a creamy white sauce with grated, rather than mashed, tatties on top - a meal of the highest comfort-food order.

I have been asked to let you all know some really horribly sad news......

(811 Posts)
That on Monday 24th August at approximately 6pm TrinityRhino's wonderful husband was killed in a car crash.

He was working near Biggar in Scotland and was on his way home when his van and a 17-5 ton lorry collided.

Thankfully he was killed instantly and did not suffer although as you will all understand the family's suffering is on going

As many of you will know Trinity and I are really close friends and I feel as if my heart has been ripped out and have only now felt I was strong enough to post this for her (I wouldn't post without her permission) and can only imagine how she and her 3 little girls and her 2 stepsons are feeling

The world is most definately a worse place for the loss of this wonderful husband, dad & friend.

God bless and R.I.P.

I hope that makes sense as I can hardly see the keys for tears

That's dreadful. If there is anything people can do just say, even practical things. I dealt with my father's death last year so got a bit of experience with that kind of thing, all the practical things you have to deal with too. Dreadful. Even worse at that age rather than when someone is almost 80 like my father.

I have only just heard tonight. I am SO sorry for not being there for you Trinity. We were great MN friends once, and I now feel like I have let you down.

Please get in touch when you feel you can and I am here now, better late than never.

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
