IT IS SUNG TO THE TUNE OF

"MORNING HAS BROKEN"

FLEETING KNOWN,YET
EVER REMEMBERED,
THESE ARE OUR CHILDREN
NOW AND ALWAYS:
THESE WHOM WE SEE NOT,
WE WILL FORGET NOT,
MORNING AND EVENING
ALL OF OUR DAYS.

2.
LIVES THAT TOUCHED OUR LIVES,
TENDERLY BRIEFLY
NOW IN THE ONE LIGHT
LIVING ALWAYS:
NAMED IN OUR HEARTS NOW,
SAFE FROM ALL HARM NOW
WE WILL REMEMBER
ALL OF OUR DAYS.

3.
AS WE RECALL THEM,
SILENTLY NAME THEM,
OPEN OUR HEARTS, LORD,
NOW AND ALWAYS:
GRANT TO US, GRIEVING,
LOVE FOR THE LIVING:
STRENGTH FOR EACH OTHER
ALL OF OUR DAYS

4.
SAFE IN YOUR PEACE, LORD,
HOLD THESE OUR CHILDREN,
GRACE, LIGHT, AND LAUGHTER
GRANT THEM EACH DAY:
CHERISH AND HOLD THEM
TILL WE MAY KNOW THEM
WHEN IN YOUR GLORY
WE FIND OUR WAY.

Today, we went to the memorial service held by the hospital where DTs were born and where DT1 died.

Each year it is held and the Drs and Nurses from Neo Natal Unit take part with the music and readings etc.

It is a very sad service but we go every year as it important to us. To remember DT1.

DT2 made us feel very proud today as they have a procession taking up, to the front of the chuch, all the cards {that we write the babies names on} and he chose to join in by himself, previously DH has gone with him.

We always sing this hymn to the tune of Morning has Broken at the service.

The rest of the service is made up of poems and music and prayers that parents have either written or chosen to remember their babies with.

Hello you! I was praying for you today. I'm glad it went well (and I know that that's probably not the best way to say it). I'm glad that DT2 made you proud.

love kisses hugs and prayers

Kanga. What a very sad, yet very lovely day you must have had today. Sad for all the obvious reasons, yet lovely because you spent the day closer to your DT1.

Thinking of you.

It is a very sad day but one that I kind of look forward to, It is very strange really and hard to explain.

It is a very special service to us. I think one of the reasons is because the people there knew DT1 and treated and cared for him.

And so they went through all the emotions with us after they were born, when they were baptised, when DT1 died, and also looked after DT2 until he came home 3 months later.

The 3 NNU consultants are there, including one who has retired since DTs were born, he returns each year and plays the flute accompanied by one of the others on the piano.

We do feel closer to DT1 at the service, DT2 writes his twin's name on the card and today drew pictures of doves flying.

We take DT1 photograph with us, the one of him crying just seconds after being born.

We have their photos of just after they were born on the shelf, next to each other.

Thanks for your kind words and hugs and prayers.

What a fantastic idea to have a service like that. The words brought it all back to me when we lost a twin - although it's over 9 years.
