Bereavement

Supporting my friend

My best friends mother died on sat night of breast cancer. She was a beautiful woman in many many ways and she will be sorely missed. He is miles away and absolutely in pieces. I was close to his mum and I have been in tears and then fine and then crying.
I have been in constant contact with him yet feel completely useless as we are in separate continents. He was close to his mum and I don't know how/ what I can do from this distance to help.
Anyone? Any help..any support groups I can link him to? Or is it too early. I don't quite know...

You are a lovely friend.

It's probably too early IME and what you can do best is to be a shoulder to cry on.

I'm so sorry op Thanks

Thank you!! I feel deeply sad but then also silly as it does not even compare. And the sad part is actually talking on the phone makes us both cry together so speaking is not working. SMS and whatsapp seem to be the only options of proving a shoulder.
