this is going to be a long one folks so sorry for ranting im just totally confused.

i m/c on 14th june was told id bleed for 2 weeks and be in pain for 2-3 days. as it happens the pain got worse as did the bleeding so on the 23rd june i went to the docs and was prescribed antibiotics which i have been takeing and stopped the bleeding and the pain in 2 days so obviously some sort of infection there.

previous when i went to the hopsital(13thjune) for a scan (was 12 weeks) they toldmethey couldnt find a heartbeat and baby died at 8 weeks and booked me in for an induced miscarriage as i didnt want a d & c. "lucky" for me it happened naturally the following evening and i went into hospital on the friday for a scan to make sure all the remaining bits had been removed. the u/s scan took all of about 5 seconds and literally just run it from side to side and that was it. i then got told i was fine t go home and to do a hpt in 2 weeks time.

2 weeks time is tomorrow but i happened to do it a day early and it is still showing pregnant?!
in my family there is a history of twins but one is always m/c early. for example my mum was in early pregnanyc with my brother and she bled heavy they sent her to the hospital for a scan and she got told she has lost her baby...went through same thing as i did then when she went back for check up scan another heart beat was found so they then decided she didnt m/c at all but when she gave birth 2 placentas were delivered. could history be repeating?

also when i was pregnant i had v.sore boobs, nausea, tiredness and all of a sudden they dissapeared but last couple of days i have them symptoms again, could this be my af? my mind playing games?

the m/c is hard to deal and its hard not to let it get you down but its all the cafuffle afterwards that is really getting me down.

Sorry to hear of your m/c. I think hormones can stay in your system for a while - can you ring your doc ? I'd get some advice ASAP as it does sound a bit confusing

Usually the pg hormones disappear quite quickly. I would get to your epu asap. Be insistent, if you are worried and want checks, dont let them brush you off.

i am actually finding my gp and the epu very unhelpful.
i called the epu late last week because my pain was getting worse and so was the bleeding and i mentioned i was concerend about infection the nurse told me i would not have an infection so early on...bearing in mindmy baby had been dead inside me for four weeks!! went to the docs and she prescribed antibiotics and told me to go to hosp of problems persist. it seems they like to pass the buck all of the time.

Hi desperate2bmum. I'm really sorry you are going through this sad time and confusion. It's horrible anyway, I know, without this.

I don't know if it will help, but I'll tell you what happened to me. I was 9 weeks when I lost mine at home and the day after I had the m/c I went to the epu and they scanned me and said it was complete - they took scan pictures of my empty uterus for the records (did they not do this for you?).
I was told, like you, to do the hpt in 2 weeks and then call to let them know the results. It was still +ve so I went in again (not very nice having to go back in there with all the memories of the m/c). They did their own pregnancy test which was positive which made them go back and check the scan results. They didn't scan me again because they said they could see from the picture that it was clear - (I was concerned about this but they seemed really laid back). I was still bleeding at this point but wasn't in pain.
So I was then sent off to do another pg test at the doctors in another 2 weeks time, which was thankfully negative - I think I started bleeding again a couple of days after that. During that entire month post m/c I still felt funny about food and then before AF I got mega mega sore breasts.

The hormones take a long time to subside, especially if you got as far as 8 weeks. Your body and it's reaction to the hormones does all sorts of weird things so we are none of us going to react the same, it seems. So your symptoms might just be that. Having said that, though, when you go back to the EPU I would say that if you are worried and you still don't feel you are being looked after properly, speak to the highest grade nurse there about your worries and get them to convincingly put your mind at rest. Can you take someone with you, because you when you go back. It's difficult enough going back i.m.e without feeling like you are going to have to potentially be assertive and have to argue your corner.

Hmm, don't know if that helped any. It's not an easy time, take care.

Oh yes I'm ttc now. That was back in January, so I feel like a bit of an old timer now on the 'ttc after miscarraige' thread.
