My beloved grandfather died on Tuesday after losing his battle with cancer. He fought so hard but it was just too much for him.
He helped raise my sister and I and we are all utterly heartbroken. We can't eat or sleep. My mum is not coping at all. Nan is doing well considering.
We just want him back. It doesn't feel real yet. I can't believe we are never going to see him again.
I live two hours away and was on my way to him when he slipped away with my nan, mum, uncle and cousin holding his hands.
I went to see him at the chapel of rest and he was so peaceful. I gave him a kiss, held his hand and told him I loved him. Saying goodbye helped.
Everytime I remember him I feel like I'm being punched in the stomach.
This is the 4th member of my family that I've lost since March. I'm not sure how much more I can take.
