My Childminder phoned today to let me know she had to have her ancient dog put down this afternoon.
I broached this with dd1 (6) who went to her until she started school last yr and ds (4) who goes once a week and they are totally devastated! How will they cope without 'wee Skye'?? Tears and questions all round. How do I help them cope with this (we dont have any pets so its never been an issue). I didnt tell them that he was put down, just that he was old and sick and died.
DD2 luckil y is too young to get it but worried about ds's reaction on Thurs? Any tips?
