Please advice what would be the best to write.

Hi All

My beautiful Ouma (grandmother) died on Monday. It was my birthday yesterday and her funeral is on Saturday. Unfortunately I can't be at the funeral as it is in South Africa and we really cannot afford to travel home. I've ordered some beautiful flowers which will be delivered tomorrow and I really want to write something beautiful to be read at the funeral. But my emotions are all over the place because 8 years ago my brother died and I couldn't be there as well.

I saw her last year with my kids but she didn't recognised me at all due to Alzheimer's.

Has anyone got a beautiful poem that I can maybe add to my tribute. Would reall appreciate it.
Thanks

Sorry for your loss Eva x Such a shame that you cannot be there but could you do something for your DGM on the day that marks it where you are?

I like Anne Bronte's poem. It's quite long in full but here are the two first verses:

Farewell

Farewell to Thee! But not farewell
To all my fondest thoughts of Thee;
Within my heart they still shall dwell
And they shall cheer and comfort me.

Life seems more sweet that Thou didst live
And men more true Thou wert one;
Nothing is lost that Thou didst give,
Nothing destroyed that Thou hast done.
