Remembering today teacher Gwenn Mayor, Victoria and her little class mates who never made it home from school that tragic day 17yrs ago.
Thoughts are with friends today as they mourn that loss.

I can still picture the teacher, Gwen Mayor's, smiling face that appeared in all the papers. She looked so lovely. One of those unforgettable & horrific happenings that we all remember where we were when we heard the news. So many heartbroken families.

Tragedy ! I was living in Israel when it happened.

17 years? Wow. I was a 2nd year teacher, our school was locked down for hours (I had a class of 11 year olds!!). I worked locally at the time. Hellish day. Rip everyone involved.

I was working in the local hospital, working in the laboratories inputting the bloods etc, it was horrific. One of Doctors DC was involved, it was an awful time.

My dd was 3 months old- I remember lighting a candle and showing it to her.......

My thoughts are with the families. I was driving down from Stirling to Glasgow, and I passed all the emergency vehicles going in the other direction. Thought there'd been a bad crash. Could never have imagined that something so awful would have happened.

I was 21 at the time and thought it was tragic and sad.

Only when I had school age children did I realise the full horror of sending your child to school never to return, it's beyond horrific.

And how crazy and sick must you be to purposely walk into a primary school with guns and shoot children, it beggars belief.

I was living in Vietnam and someone we knew there had a friend who lost a DD. Horrific.

I remember I was helping in my daughter's nursery as a parent helper and the nursery nurse asked me if I had heard the news. Felt the shivers go down my spine. One of those events you never forget. My thoughts are with the families and survivors.

I remember it very well as I was at work and had to call a large customer of ours in Scotland during that day. My normal contacts were not available as they had run out to an emergency at their kids school. Just heartbreakingly horrific.

I was working in north Glasgow that day, will never forget it. Can still remember Victoria's mother screaming her name out whilst being heavily pregnant. Am so very sorry for everyone involved, this is a horrific thing to have to live with. Cried and cried at the programme shown to commemorate the loss, and the special window with all the childrens favourite characters on it, am crying thinking of it now.

Ssd I was just going to say that. I always hear "Victoria ................." When I'm reminded of Dunblane.

I am Scottish but was a long way from home that day. Living in New Jersey, a friend walked up to me in the shops and said "something terrible has happened in Scotland". Awful.

I was travelling between work sites when the news came on the radio. I wanted to rush and get DD from her childminder.

Also remember the footage of women running to the school, and one shouting: Victoria, Victoria. It was cut by the 9.00.p.m. news.

The film for that evening on one channel was the Bond View to a Kill and was replaced by Field of Dreams. I can't see the latter without thinking of Dunblane, and praising the thoughtful subbing by the TV channel.
