oh please please avoid poetry

I am sorry .. but it would be far better to just get a supportive letter .. any poetry may hit the mark but just as likely it will jarr and be difficult to take

I do not think a sympathy letter is the place for poetry

Thanks for that Twiglett, I am not going to do the poetry you are very right, I have been where my she is now but it was 11 years ago but she was there by my side when it happened to my father, the only differences are my father died of a tragic accident so very sudden & her father has died of being Ill so very slowly.

Life is shit sometimes isn't it !

just send a simple card saying you are there
that is enough imo

My dad died at age of 53 11 years ago. I would say that just a 'i'm thinking of you and always there for you' would probably be enough. I would leave out the poetry.

I have written a little letter, i feel it should be more than just a simple note because we are more like sisters than close friends, i should have explained really. She lived with my family for a few years when she was about 16, she was there the night my father died & we have remained the same ever since, we have drifted the last year or so for many reasons but we know we are still there for one another if you know what i mean.
