Bereavement

Brighton friends - not good news

Noddy, Mabs, RnB etc - just had to tell you that went to hopsital this afternoon and they confirmed my worst fears - that I have lost the baby and it happened over the weekend. They don't know why - just said that not enough fluid around the baby. They are going to induce me over next couple of days (can't believe what we were talking about at lunch time today) then do a post mortem to see if they can discover why this has happened at this stage.

I'm in shock, but i'm ok. Will be in contact soon. Take care.
DHW x

DHW: I am absolutely heart-broken for you. Please, please take care of yourself. Don't feel pushed into making any decisions.
It is so very hard to lose a baby late in pregnancy and sometimes the doctors and midwives lose sight of the fact that you are feeling so overwhelmed.

Take care of yourself and keep posting as mumsnet can be the most amazing source of support.

I'm not a Brighton person either DHW, but I just wanted to say how very sorry I am to hear your news. I lost a baby boy, Tom, at 21 weeks just over two years ago, and had to be induced etc, so please CAT me if there is anything practical I can do or say to help you through this sad time.
Remember that SANDS is there to support anyone whose baby dies after 20 weeks' gestation right through to shortly after birth. A lot of people are not aware that they help people with "late miscarriages" too.
I got massive, wonderful support on here when this happened to me and I know you will too dhw. Mumsnet's a good place to be when in this situation.

That's such a good point Marina, I'll get the Sands info to her, I too sadly have some experience. I just can't believe it as I was with her at lunch today, with Noddy and RnB.
