my ds (2.1) has recently discovered that if he plays with himself he can give himself one.

I just let him get on with it as hes just discovering his body and bits. Sometimes il say in a silly jokey voice 'leave your willy alone' and he'll laugh but usually do it more!

Shall i just leave him to it and let him play and just deal with it if he starts doing it in inapropriate situations?

tell him he has to go to his bedroom to play with his willy.

Gives him a choice - and appropriate. Not a punishment - nobody is allowed to sit on the sofa and fiddle with their bits.

We told Ds when he started it to save it for bed time and bath times and he seemed to take it on board eventually though he will have his hands down his trousers when watching a dvd - bit like his dad really!
