Since starting nursery my 3 1/2 yr old son has become rude and sometimes aggressive. He no longer wants to do things that he used to enjoy and nothing seems good enough. We have had countless mini episodes (he argues like a teenager!!! I am at my wits end. Yesterday he came down the stairs thinking I couldnt here him swearing and calling me some very bad things!

Not sure where from. I know I have said one word a couple of times but not what he said. i am not sure if he has heard it from my youbger brother or sister when they have been talking to friends (we all live together and they are 12/15yrs respectively -I have asked but they deny all knowledge)

Mmm...Maybe you could try to sit down with your ds and spend some time drawing together. You could ask him to draw his nursery or something he is scared of, or angry at. This could give you an idea of what is going on -OK, I admit, I saw this in an episode of Law and Order!!!-.
If I were you, I would change nursery and/or seek professional help. Your ds certainly deserves to be happy. I hope I am not alarming you unnecessarily, I have to say I am always on the paranoid side.

I dont think its at that stage yet!! I think the rudeness is ds trying to assert his independence that he has learnt from being at nursery. The aggression isnt physical its just sometimes when he wants things he cant have (like all kids I suppose) and as for the swearing I am hoping it was a one off!! Besides the threat of a very unhappy Father Christmas and soap in the mouth seems to have put a stop to it for now.

Yesterday was a bad day so I think I made it seem worse than it was on here, to outlet!!!
