Going to sleep angry, waking up angry?

DS2 yesterday went off for a nap while he was still tantrumming. And woke up still tantrumming! Do other toddlers do this, or is he a big freak?

And how do I get him to stop?

(I did manage to distract him, but still, it felt like groundhog day, to have him wake up and immediately start shouting "mine!" again. )

he prob woke while dreaming, could you have tried to get to go back to sleep for another 20mins to see if he could wake up in a better mood.

My dd last was at pre school for the first time by herself, at the end of the session they where all give a boiled sweet lolly, which i took away from her as i think she is to young (2yrs 9mths) for lolly, that night she woke up at 2am crying for her lolly, i managed to get her back to sleep, and she was fine when she got up at 7am.

It continues till later ime. Ds went to bed (well was sent in the end)in a strop and is 10 and has woken in a foul mood and is taking it out on his sisters! We all do it as adults as well at times. With my three I have found that Ds does this the most it could be him or that he is a boy the others are girls. I tend to take no notice now.

I think part of the problem is, our nap schedule is insanely tight. DS2 finishes at the co-op at 1:15. We have to leave the house to go get DS1 at 2:50 or so. He's lucky if he gets an hour of nap, and I nearly always have to wake him up, rather than letting him wake.
