Describe your 2.6yo to me

DS1 is a chatty, comical chap. He likes dashing about, letters, numbers, colours, shapes, learning new words, baths and eating bananas "chopped up in a bowl with a fork", among other things.

He doesn't like dressing up, painting, playdoh or chocolate.

Is he unusual? We went to a messy play place the other day and he had no interest in wearing an apron and doing a painting.

I'm not worried at all btw - just interested in other 2.6yos and their madness (they are bonkers, toddlers, aren't they?!).

Agree they are completely bonkers ds2 loves dashing about a fast as he can, knocking everything/one in his path, carrying the poor wee cat around, taking toys of his siter, waking up at bloody 1am because he wants a bottle (ffs)!!! Running around with no underware on, cleaning up with a dustpan and brush, and playing the mud.

He doesn't like being in the car even when he was tinny winny he used to scream the minute we got in, getting his hair/nails cut and watching TV.

FYI-Playing the mud is a strange instrument played here in deapest darkest Cotwolds Land sadly a dying art. Or I could have meant playing in the mud!!!

It is 1.30am!

More 2.6yos please - and some 2.7ers because I've realised that DS1 is 2.7 tomorrow!

I rather like it too.

Are you OK though? You seem to be...on fire?

Hi Hunker
ds is 2.7 (yesterday) - he loves cars and lines them up to, usually with Little People animals driving them! He's not yet potty trained, loves dinosaurs, is a real Daddy's boy and likes to watch other kids rather than join in sometimes. He still loves cuddles and stories. He'd rather be out - in the pushchair, park, nursery, anywhere, than be at home. He loves kids tv, esp Milkshake

DD is 2.6 (May 04 birthday). She likes dolls, standing on a chair next to me while I cook despite whatever exciting entertainments her Dad/brother offer [sigh], playing with duplo, doing puzzles, playing animal lotto, playing with Brio trains, fighting with her brother over Brio trains, fighting with her brother over just about anything else, running around after her naked brother trying to catch his willy, running around naked herself pretending to wee like a boy with sound effects, swimming, having her toe nails painted, pinching my "jewellry" and creams, dressing up in her own "jewellry" etc.

She doesn't like watching TV. She knows all the colour names but doesn't know the corresponding colour. So she will say she wants the green cup and I will say but that is DS's and she will insist she wants it so I will put her drink in it and then she will tantrum because she wanted the green cup which is actually yellow.

0She has a favourite soft toy but this will only last for a month or two before she moves onto the next one, that she has in bed with her and wants when she cries. Currently it is Tinky Winky, but previous favourites have been Po, Sheep, rabbit, monkey etc. She also has a favourite non-soft toy which she insists on taking everywhere with her in her handbag. Currently this is a small plastic Noddy figure, but previous favourites have included, two plastic sausages, a plastic jar of peanut butter and a teapot, a conker and a hot wheels car.

My ds 2.7 is into trains in a big way, tractors and cars and will play with them as much as possible. Likes to paint, playdoh and draw. Loves "mending" things and digging in the garden. Is starting to play with others, am starting to potty training tomorrow (GULP!), hates brushing teeth, hair wash/cut and worships his father. Loves bedtime cuddles and reading with mummy though! However is now taking great pride and in telling me that he "doesn't like it" even when he does. GRRRRRRRR.

My son is 2.7yrs. He's always been big into lining up cars! Also he's completely bonkers. He's only just got into the whole painting and sticking stuff and he uses his play doh to drive his cars over!

He thinks he's hilarious! He's very loving, though has just started wiping kisses away because they're "'sgusting" LOL!

He loves the outdoors, running around, looking at things... hitting things with sticks!

My dd is almost 2.6. She's currently heavily into her imaginary friends, she seems to be constantly surrounded by an invisible menagerie of baby animals. She's loving the Cbeebies website and using my precious MN time to play teletubbies games. She loves 'running fast!' and after racing around she stands with her hands on her hips, breathing hard, saying 'hard work Mummy'.

She hates being dressed, brushing teeth and brushing hair so she spends most of her time in her pants looking like a Dickensian urchin!

dd3 is 2.6. She is extremely easygoing but stubborn when she really wants something. She loves drawing, painting, playdough, craft and cooking. She eats almost anything (unlike my others) and tries to learn to write play I spy (following her 5 year old sister). in fact she only knows one letter - the initial of her name.

she can count to 10 and likes to pretend to be a scarecrow or a scary pumpkin in a mask. she doesn't particularly like being read to, though she likes to "read" to herself. (she is VERY low maintenance).

she is utterly adorable.

she is still in nappies and refuses to try the potty or toilet.

My Dd is almost 2.6, another May 04!
She is feisty, independant, funny, and very mischevious!
She can name alot of colours and count to ten, she is also potty trained.
She loves her babies and her pram, she loves The Teletubbies, Charlie and Lola, and most of all Mr Tumble on something special.
She has the biggest temper tantrums i have ever seen, they can last for hours!
Her favourite food is broccolli?
She can be quite rude in the way, when people try to chat to her when we are out she will just sneer at them or hide her face! I suppose that may be a good thing though really!
Overall, she is really hard work sometimes, but absolutley fantastic!

Hi my son is 2.7 and the car thing took a lot to get over! He is rarely interested in arts or painting etc but loves running around madly like a lunatic. Sometimes wants a book read to him, especially his 'bubble' kids bible and getting a new obsession with trains and Thomas Tank engine, can name all colours, a few shapes and all the Thomas characters and most of the characters from his favorite disney movies. Quite surprisingly he can tell you what the next scene or line in the film is before it happens... too much tv perhaps but a great memory! No potty yet, NO POO he says when he gets asked 'do you need the potty' oh well, toilet training coming soon I hope.

Ds is 2.7.
Loves lining up cars too ... wtf is that about?
Also plays extensive games with cuddly animals - all of who have 'mudders' fadders' and often sisters... they all get hurt and need a cuddle with their mummies quite frequently. Refuses to play with dolls however.
Likes wearing my high heeled boots a LOT
Is starting to get into drawing, but prefers to tell us what to draw.
Loves porridge (ideally with raisins in), meatball sarnis, brocolli,corn-on-the-cob and flapjacks
Is toilet trained, and just suddenly interested in wiping his own bottom. Also lurves weeing outside in the park
Makes his little sister giggle a lot - just by looking at her
Likes sharing food out so everyone gets a bit ( we had 5 visitors today - everyone had to have a lot of satsuma segments...)
Loves all and every book ever created.
Sometimes stays in his bed quietly all night...
