DD Slaps us in the face

Hi, my DD is 18mths old and when she is tired and we go to kiss her or hug her she will turn round and slap us in the face. Nothing seems to work - tried to reason, tried being cross and tried to make her see it upsets and hurts us. Has anyone experienced this and does anyone have any advice please? Other than this she is an extremely happy, outgoing and loving little girl!

my 24m old dd still does this but she knows she is not supposed to do it but most of the time she raised her hand and whilst its up in the air she is thinking "im not supposed to do this as mummy will be cross"

i give her one warning and if she does it again, its bed for 2 or 3 mins (or till she calmed down) and she GOT to say sorry (at 18m its a kiss and cuddle but they cannot verbally say sorry as they dont know how to) - it works

you just have to keep trying till she get the message
