I have identical twin boys of 8½ months old. They are bonny happy little souls, but appear to be a little on the lazy side! They have their 8 month check with the Health Visitor this week, and I am worried about what she is going to say regarding their complete inability to sit unaided, crawl etc! Would appreciate some ideas to get them moving!!!!

She's unlikely to say anything much except give them a bit more time! The average ages you read about for developmental steps are just that - averages. There's a wide range around that middle 'average'! Please don't worry or label them as 'lazy' - no babies are lazy! They just have their own internal timetable and everything will happen in its own good time. FWIW, both my DDs haven't crawled till about 11-12 months. And have walked within about a month after that!

I guess the childminder is just making me feel a bit guilty - keeps saying they should be doing certain things by now, but all they want to do is roll around together and eat each other's fingers! Sleeping through the night since three months old though, so very happy on that front!!!
