10 month old hardly eating - any advice??

My DS is not a big food fan - and won't drink any milk except boob (and theres not a lot of that left) - he often seems very hungry but cries when we try to feed him (or resolutely refuses even to open his mouth and taste the food) - we offer lots of finger food which he either chews a bit and spits out or just plays with; he can eat a lot when he wants to, and has eaten a lot better in the past (tho he's never been chubby), so I know it;s not just that he has a small appetite. i don't want to turn it into a pressured or emotionally charged situation, but at the same time, i do want him to eat.
Any advice?

Offer him the same food as you are eating, sit and eat with him and he will eat when he is hungry, a child will not starve themselves and they will often eat when there is no attention being paid to them.

Do you offer boob freely during the day?

those are good ideas - its a bit tricky in that his meal times dont really match ours - his dad works evenings so i generally wait to eat with him, whereas ds eats at 6ish. also i dont usually fancy eating mush!.
i dont offer boob freely during the day because i work 2 days a week and was advised by the HV to phase it out; and also because my milk supply is very low and i dont want to risk not having enough for his 7pm and 11pm feeds.It has happened! I know that in the long run my body would rise to the challenge and produce more, but in the short term it feels too risky.
