gentle DS turning into an arrogant prat?

DS is 4.5 yr s old and has always been very well behaved...till a coulpe of months ago that is. He is brattish to the extent of actually being rude at times. There is no change in his set of friends or his surroundings. I strated working fulltime again recently. is it because of my going to work that his behaviour is going down hill? or is it just a phase? I spend quality time with him everyday and he is very well behaved with me most of the time. Am worried that my angel is growing horns. Insights needed!!

phase i rekon, my ds whos now coming up 12 years old had what the nursery called fearsome fours, he was pure evil till he started school at 5years andthen he changed back to a lovely little boy again. good luck

My ds started this at around 5 as well. He is now 6.5 and is getting worse! I hope it's just a phase.
