Rolling over, frequent feeding, night waking and exhausted mum! Help!

Hi all,

My DS is nearly 4 months old and learned to roll from his front to back about two weeks ago. In the last week or so he has been rolling over onto his front constantly in the night and waking up crying cos he doesn't like it there! He cannot roll on to his back again yet even though I'm trying to teach him during the day. No amount of rolled up towels or blankets can keep him from doing it and I am so tired... Even more so than when I was feeding him in the night (which I am again as well now). Anyone else have this problem?
Also, his day time feeding/nap schedule has gone right out the window in the past four days as he seems to want to eat much more often than the 5-6oz every three hours it was before(normal for him has been 7 feeds in 24 hours). Is it a growth spurt or does he need richer milk? I have beeen thinking of trying him on hungry baby milk - does anyone have any advice on this(I could not BF him so he's bottle fed)? He's just above the 50th centile for weight. And last but not least - he is also drooling A LOT and I wonder if he could be teething this early?
Sorry to ask for so much advice but I am feeling a bit overwhelmed and need some!
Thnk you :-)

He's probably having a growth spurt.

Have you tried a sleeping bag? That might help. Drooling is a teething sympton but that doesn't mean that he'll get teeth imminently.

This is the best place to ask. Lots more people will give advice on what worked best for them too.

Oh and can your partner give him one feed in the middle of the night. That way you get a decent block of sleep and don't feel quite so exhausted all day.

One night feed won't kill your partner...but you might if you're over tired.

When ds had a cold the advice was to let him sleep in his car seat. We just propped it in his bed. Maybe give that a try?

Oh, and just noticed the drooling. Yes, totally normal at this age, although it may be 2 or even 3 months before the teeth come in. It's maddening. Put a bib on him so it doesn't soak through his clothes and give him a rash. He'll probably get one on his chin no matter what...

just one thing with the hungry baby milk. I called milupa help line. They said it won't decrease the volume they drink at one feed and has the same calorific content as the normal milk, its just harder to digest so makes them feel full longer. The helpline lady said to try and avoid it unless I was desparate - i.e feeding every 2 hours or less, as it can give them tummy ache. Maybe try upping the volume first 5-6oz isn't a huge amount (although its not small either).

Thanks for the advice. Touch wood he seems to be a bit better today (day 5). I thought my baby had been replaced by a changeling for a while there though!
