When did your DC drop the bedtime milk?

DS will be three in April. Bottles gone, and he's not really interested in milk from a cup.

He sleeps fine (7-7) so I'm assuming he's naturally ready to drop the bedtime milk. I'm not fussed if he does this, just wondering at what age your DC ditched the milk before bedtime?

(Now I've written this out I feel like he's already way too old to be having milk at bedtime Hmm )

DD is nearly 4 and still has a bottle of cow's milk at bedtime. It's her one remaining 'baby' habit and as she never goes near a bottle otherwise i'm in no mad rush to stop it. It helps her settle into the bedtime routine.

My DS will be three in May and would be severely pissed off if he didn't get his bedtime milk. I too feel that he's far too old but then I think, "well what harm can it do?".

Dd stopped bottle of milk at 14 months....had a small cup of milk prior to going up for bath until about 2. She's never been that into drinking milk always make up her dairy intake with yoghurts etc. I wouldnt worry to much about it.

Oh, and I still have a mug of hot milk at bedtime and I'm 41, so don't worry too much about your DS Grin

My son has dropped it at 16 months, totally uninterested in having it and sleeps just the same (still wakes up for a cuddle!)

Mine is 18 months and stopped having milk at bedtime when I stopped BFing him last month. I didn't replace it with anything else.

DC1 around 2.5yo, but we forced it as part of giving up bottles and trying to sleep train. Once the bottles were gone, she didn't want milk at bedtime.

DC2 stopped wanting it very early, at about 20mo. Since then he started inhaling his own body weight in yoghurt and cheese on a daily basis instead, and will drink milk at snack time, but not at bedtime. He has a big old drink of water just before snuggling down to sleep (2yo).

Thanks all.

I'm not worried about it - he has a good diet with plenty of calcium etc so nutritionally I don't see any issues with him dropping it. I was just curious as all of the other kids I know who are his age still have a bottle / cup.

We ditched bottles not too long ago and he lost interest. Last night I stuck his milk in a spare bottle as cups were all in the dishwasher and he just wasn't interested.

NotIn why would you be pissed off?

DS1 is now 19 months and stopped his BF before bed around 16 months. It had really tapered off before that though and he hadn't been BF every night. Didn't occur to me to replace it with anything to be honest, as he eats a big dinner a couple of hours before bed.

DS is 3.3 and still has a warm bottle of milk and gets very annoyed at the slightest suggestion that he isn't going to get it. He doesn't like it from a cup - i've tried - but loves his bottle before bed. Who am i to argue? He's growing up too quickly in every other respect and i want to hang onto a little bit of his baby-hood!

I think Notin's DC would be severely pissed off, not her! My DD3 certainly would be, she is 3.3 Blush

Sorry, didn't mean to post and run! Yes, Lydia is right, my DS would be the one doing all the complaining if his milk didn't magically appear before him at story time. Unlike many of you though, my DS is a shocking eater and I do worry that the milk is having some effect on that.

I still have milk before bed at 28. DD's ten months and has already given up on it (she's spent most of her life protesting that milk is poison).
